It was Halloween. I was 10 years old. I went into an old victorian mansion serving candy with my mom and a bunch of strangers in there. I was at the bottom of an ornate wooden staircase with a wooden ball thingy on the rails like pic related. The wooden ball turned into a human head made of wood and began speaking to me. I tried to figure out what trick it was, like how a human had their actual head on top of the wooden beam with no body, like some optical illusion etc. But it wasn't an optical illusion, it was some sort of demon appearing only to me. It spoke to me I don't remember what it said. My mom came around the corner and I looked at her, then looked back at the talking head as I was going to show it to her, and it was gone.
