I've read about some extreme paranormal experiences brought by some types of meditation. Recently I've been trying Metta meditation. There's a guy who felt an angry entity leaving him after doing some heartfelt Metta for quite some time. Another guy had strikes of pleasurable energy hitting him after doing Metta on his mother with whom he had conflicting emotions.

I tried that and it was doing great but then I felt a earth ache and some stuck energy there. I feel blockages in the chakras and lots of unresolved traumas and anger.

metta is one of those things where its meaningful to cultivate it after its arisen naturally in practice
but there's lots of tards out there who dont want to work on the fundamentals and go look for woo woo shit as their primary drive for the endeavor
those people seldom make much of any real progress

correct.
>>
was in a really deep state one time and 'breathing' white light up my spinal column, immediately started feeling kundalini vibes, stopped doing that shit

other times hearing non-existent sounds, last one was a loud metal can falling/clanging noise a foot away that knocked me outta trance

3 1/2 hours passing but it only felt like 30 minutes

actually seeing the part of my room in front of me, through closed eyes

entering a lucid state where I can actually see places I'm imagining as real as if I'm physically there, even though I have aphantasia

other weird shit I don't recall offhand
>>
all i reached is like black swirling in front of my closed eyes and kind of the feeling of passing out and tingling fingers
>>
>>42180728
this is why just focus on fundamentals instead of paying attention to the scenery
the cool stuff comes by mastering fundamentals
>>
>>42180566
The loud metal banging is VERY common. I actually hear loud knocking on wood. Sometimes I hear people talking. That also usually knocks me off of trance. They say they do it on purpose, cause if you're ready you're able to keep going without issue
>>
>>42182603
there's a poltergeist in my house that tends to harass me, so I suspected it's been behind these crash/bang sounds, but you're telling me this is common? someone trying to stymie our progress? figures...

It's possible

You're experiencing hypnagogic hallucinations. Basically you're doing it wrong
>>
>>42180566
I had a similar experience—for a very brief moment, I "heard" something vaguely resembling a hum and saw something like a light. It was very different from actual sight and hearing, very otherworldly. It wasn't frightening, but it gave me a kind of blissful state.
>>42183416
I've experienced hypnagogic hallucinations before, and I've also tried mushrooms since. It's a completely different experience, much more tame than the meditations where I could sense the "light." The only similar experience I've had was a random bad trip with weed, when I experienced ego death and completely forgot who I was for a few minutes. It felt like I was remembering some memories before birth, as if I'd momentarily escaped the prison of the material world.
Hubris speaks within me, but it seems to me that this is something close to the Uncreated Light, Ohr, or similar concepts among Buddhists and Taoists.
>>
>>42183416
maybe
I don't pretend to know where I'm going in these altered states, but I wonder if it's really just hypnagogia because I'm perfectly conscious during them, and I've never experienced these things in bed when I'm falling asleep

and I don't wanna be paranoid but it's curious how the loud sounds or voices saying things I hate only start when I finally reach the depth of consciousness I'm aiming for, as if to thwart me
>Basically you're doing it wrong
pray tell how ones does it right, or stop pretending you're some zen master

>and I've never experienced these things in bed when I'm falling asleep
You probably stay in a half-asleep state for longer when you meditate because your body isn't used to sleeping in that position.
Generally speaking, experiencing time acceleration is a sign that your attention is slipping away. If your concentration and awakeness increase time should actually slow down.
Books like The Mind Illuminated explain these thing in excruciating detail
>>

>experiencing time acceleration is a sign that your attention is slipping away
Not sure about that...
The time acceleration also happens when I'm doing self hypnosis, where I'm fully concentrated on my affirmations and visualizations and practically wide awake. Again, I'm no expert on the matter. Then again, I don't see how any of this is 'doing it wrong.' Even if it happens to be hypnagogia, if the state of consciousness I'm entering lets me do things like alter my body, heal myself, astrally project, etc,...who's to say it's wrong?
>>

time moving isnt even perceived while in samahdi
you're just sitting there comfortably for a moment, however long that moment is
the moment lasts as long as the attention is well focused

>Be me
>Decide to meditate to have Out of Body Experience
>Light candles and incense
>Frequency music turned low to set mood
>Ensure all devices are of so there's no distractions
>Sit and clear mind
>Darkness
>Darkness
>Darkness for what I assumed to be about 30 minutes
>Decide to try the Rope technique
>Imagine pulling myself out of my body
>Senses become lighter
>I don't feel the air on my skin
>I can't hear the music, but a low drum
>I feel light and floaty
>Start getting excited
>"OMG I'm doing it! I'm out!"
>Realize that I recognized the separation
>Immediately get thrown back into my body
>Open my eyes and see all is as it was
>FUCK

I was pissed. I did it, I actually did it, but because I recognized I was separate while still pulling out I was sent back into my flesh. Incredible experience, still pissed.

Usually you call people le IVAN or that we are bots when we make posts like this. Why are you like this? If everything is fake & gay here, why do even bother replying? Is that all you are good for, shitting on any attempts at making connections?

How do I feel something from metta? I really like the idea of it, producing love on command, but in practice I just feel like I'm reciting phrases and telling myself I'm feeling them. "May I be well": like yeah, I guess I want to be well? But it's not an intention I can sustain.

I haven't had phantom loud sounds in meditation, but I occasionally get it when trying to fall asleep.

this is why I said above that its more proper to have metta arise naturally from practice before trying to just generate it by fiat
words, lol...metta needs no words
once it arises naturally....there! there's the desired signal!
now you have something more concrete to conjure instead of
>I have this idea of X in my head
>>
>>42188178
Maybe I should practice other forms of meditation, and if I get that feeling of love, stay with it and try to build it up?
>>
>>42188213
cultivate refined turbulence free breath, cultivate awareness
signposts that arise, cool, you know you're on the right path
dont look for them or try to make them arise
just keep executing fundamentals
this is how the first few years of cultivation should go

Meditating while high gives me almost instant obe. Can you tell me about your ego death?

>>42179403
Meditation never works for me. I tried doing it at work once and my boss walked in the break room and asked wtf are you doing anon

There exists a slight chance of getting better results while trying it at home in peace and quiet.
