>Since the early 21st century, it has been recognized as the oldest-known civilization in America, and as one of the six sites where civilization separately originated in the ancient world. It is attributed an antiquity of 5,000 years and it is considered the oldest city in the Americas and one of the oldest in the world.
>Closely related to the city of Caral was an early fishing city, Áspero or El Áspero, located on the coast near the mouth of the Supe River. There, remains of human sacrifices (two children and a newborn) have been found. In 2016, the remains were found of a woman, who presumably was one of the local elite around 2500 BC.[5]
What do you think of them? They seem to have been recently discovered, but they seem rather strange, even compared to the Olmecs.
Oxus Civilization is also underrated.

Looks to me to be older than they admit. Especially with the lack of pottery and art paintings
Maybe a remnant of Atlantis time period with the descendants of lemurians

Caral isn't a recent discovery, though. It just has been revisited and reassesed with modern technology.
But of course they seem strange, they were a completely original production in human civilization (Which the Olmecs also were). And a possible window into the other forms paths human society could have taken.

I wasn't familiar with this but I could immediately recognize the peruvian desert. I will read more about it.
There is a lot hidden in the desert and mountains of chile and peru, I'm positive. I really hope some more honest scientists find where all the mummies that are being desecrated and turned into those depressing tridactyls are coming from.

Proto-Salafi/Iconoclasts

So they are definitely fake?

yeah, they are real mummies made from real ancient humans that were mutilated. it's not known much else, because the people publishing them are still larping that they're non human

They were just pre-pottery. Which is admittedly surprising for a society of that complexity.

At least in Peru things actually have a chance of being excavated; here in Mexico all I can do is watch on as everything is destroyed by real state development. I fucking hate how undefunded archeology is.

Worth noting that they were coastal, seashells (and gourds) can fill the role of ceramics well enough to delay efforts in that direction, especially if there's no good clay in the area.

As for the arts, we don't see sculptures or carvings, but we do see traces of paintings and textiles, which sadly didn't survive well enough in the next 5000 years.
It's probable that their preferred form of visual art was clothing patterns or paintings on natural slabs of rock, probably because they don't appear to have been too good at working stone (it's rather amazing that they managed such monumental architecture without using proper blocks btw.)

one of my archaeology professors used to work in mexico but got fucking shot by people trying to keep them away from a dig site. there are a lot of bad actors looting and selling that stuff. it fucking sucks.

Wait until you hear about why Israel got started
Hint: they want those Dead Sea scrolls and gnostic texts

In fairness, as far as I know the government will take your land away if there's anything interesting in there. But yes, it fucking sucks, it sucks so bad.
