I have been trying it for the past few days and I have found it insane how effective it actually is. I have grown up adjacent to a lot of new age peope who did breathwork and got roped into trying different practices but it never clicked for me. Doing this though I can feel like I can hold my breath for so long and the clear headedness I get after 2 cycles is incredible. But all of it has got me asking some questions:>is it true that it can put you in a "psychedelic like state"?>if part of the breathwork is built on lowering Co2 in your bloodstream can that damage your organs and brain? If there are any anons who are more experienced or knowledgeble about this sort of thing I would really appreciate it.

You're not around the right people to learn breathwork from if they didn't teach you how to enter intense psychedelic states from alternated breathing exercises. Wim Hof is amazingly effective, you can do similar with other things too in order to spike adrenaline or have fine control over your heart beat. You can also experience something that feels very much like astral projection with intense breathing methods that I don't want to share because I'm unsure of how safe it actually is, and may just be the result of you slowly asphyxiating yourself without your body noticing.

It's all something I want to delve deeper into but I want to do it safely.
The wim hoff method is sorta just a repackaging of certain breathing exercises into a modern western cultural framework. There used to be old nat-geo documentaries with monks doing a lot of the same demonstrations that made Hoff famous but explained through a more religious paradigm
