They wanted to engage in a trade deal.

We were not intelligible at the time.

They initiated our current present, by their actions in the past, to form us into a civilization capable of engaging with them.

The hydrocarbon oil reserves on this planet, were intentional.

Mars was the workshop. It is not a war-torn planet, as some think. Mars is a backplate and workbench.
No EMF dynamo for interference. Desiccated landscape, causing inert reaction with the molten alloys involved.
Argon 36 shielding gas, in the CO2 sparse atmosphere. (The Argon 36 presence is currently concealed, as we can not differentiate the Argon 36 ratio, with the dispersal of HCl across the surface.)

Their presence here is discoverable, on purpose.

The more interesting aspect is the interaction and conceptual linguistic engagement that is occurring.

This movie is just one more possibility node, but the truth is that we are "not exactly alone".

In some sense, we are alone, but only because we were made that way, on purpose.

Mankind is a test of a functional technological system, that incorporates consciousness into the fabric of what you know as reality.

I doubt the movie will dive deep into this truth, but it will certainly touch on aspects of it.
