i had this on ps2 as a kid. im not sure about the title but it was definitely this box art. i never played it because i thought it looked gay. years later i found out what nights into dreams was online and recognized the main character as the one from my ps2 game. as far as i can tell online; nights journey of dreams never had a ps2 release. into dreams did, but only in japan, and i am not japanese. it would of been a pal copy. my dad got the game second hand with a bunch of other ones, i dont know from where and he's dead so i cant ask. i only recently discovered the game I OWNED does not exist when looking ps2 roms to download with a friend. he has never heard of it. is it some mendella effect shit? a bootleg? implanted memory? im leaning towards it being something super-natural since if it is a game that exists in this reality, officially licensed or not, id be able to find evidence of other copies somehow, even in the backgrounds of blury jpegs of peoples collections/arab shops with fake ps2 games.

>is it some mendella effect shit?
no it just means your kid memories suck as much as your adult grammar

You had a Sega Saturn which was bought secondhand during the PS2 era for cheap (think $20 for console+six games including Croc, Nights, Virtua Fighter 2 and Virtua Cop with lightgun controller) and it subsequently disappeared because outdated and nobody gives a f about Sega Saturn during and after the PS2 era.
t. this was literally me and I have no idea what happened to those games

I'm telling you, if you distinctly remember owning Nights, it means you had a Sega Saturn and Nights into Dreams during the PS2 era, but it was so insignificant compared to PS2 because 5 years outdated by then that it didn't even register to memory, probably purchased by your parents casually from someone else because it was cheap as dirt at that time. The "it was PS2" part is a confabulation, further evidenced by the fact that you can't remember the other games that were purchased as a set with the Nights game you strongly insist that you owned. I say it was Nights into Dreams instead of Nights Journey of Dreams because by the time the Wii came out, you would have been old enough to form concrete memories about whether or not you have owned the game, and because there is no plausible alternative explanation for why you would insist that you owned a Wii-era game during the PS2 era. Again, I'm telling you, my version of your life history is more plausible and probable than your confabulation, it's time to accept that you live in the reality that I've brought to your attention.

>Wii-era game during the PS2 era.
ps3 was out im a zoomer and my dads friend probably sold it to him for crack money. it came with super man returns, spyro year of the dragon fly platinum edition, legend of spyro a new begining, wall e, astroboy, harry potter and the goblet of fire, and smackdown vs raw 2008.

fuck bro, just seeing that game cover just flooded me with so much nostalgia and good memories.

every time i played the mini-game in Sonic Adventure it felt like i was being transported into a dream. The music was so good. I wanted to be in that screen so badly.

Man... i really wish i could physically traverse that imaginary landscape

I highly recommend the original NiGHTs into Dreams whether it's the Saturn or Steam version (which I think is delisted now), it's a very /x/ game that has a mystic kind of feeling to it. I started playing it in 2017, I had a Saturn as a kid but I didn't have NiGHTs back then, it's become one of my favorite games.

NiGHTS is a very /x/ game.
It's based on Jungian psychology and self actualisation.
The male and female protagonists are based on the anima/animus. NiGHTS is based on the shadow, your personal unconscious. The villain is based on Jung's archetype of the wise old man (The Sage). There was a cut character called Selph (The self)
In the game you traverse a world made from your dreams. Jung's work focused on writing and detailing his dreams to investigate the collective unconscious.
