Okay this is kind of convoluted but bear with me. In the early 2000s my brother and I loved to grab whatever mp3 files we could off of the internet. Small bands from all over. We got stuff off mp3.com limewire and Napster and then one day we got a nastygram from our isp about copyrighted material because one or two of the songs turned out to be actual mainstream stuff. Disturbed maybe? Possibly Metallica because they were being assholes about that at the time.
Also our parents were convinced that the computer now had a virus but they might have been right because of limewire.
So all the mp3s got deleted overnight.
But not to worry. My bro had burned them all to a cdr.
We believed in the war on terror and the "liberation" of Iraq. So my bro decided to "do his part" and signed up to be a marine. From what I hear he was a damn good one and saved his buddies.
Unfortunately he lost his life to an ied.
It's been over 20 years and time heals all wounds except for the fact that you never get your brother back when he dies in a pointless fucking war.
Just yesterday I found that fucking cdr in an old binder at my parents house. It had a fucking crack in it. There is no recovering it. Most of the songs that were on it I have already. But there was one particular ska punk song that I have never been able to find. I don't even know who it was and I don't remember the name of the song itself but I think it was something like "far away from you." It wasn't exactly lo-fi but it sure wasn't well produced. The song was pretty typical for small ska/ska punk/ska core bands of the time. The lyrics were something like "I wish you were here. Why do I need to be far away from you? I still love you."
Something like that. It was obviously a love song about a girl but it makes me think of him since he's been gone for so long and he and I both thought it was corny but we would sit there and rock out to it. We even skanked to it one time when we were high. It's a

So much of John S. Bulla's stuff has been lost. Sad situation though. The guy was clearly mentally unwell and trolls kept taking advantage of him, pretending to be supermodels, convincing him they wanted to meet up, then claiming they were demons who abducted said supermodels and took them to Saturn. there was a video that was also a webm, from long long ago, of an orca or killer whale, scooting along the beach with an incoming wave and scooping up in its mouth a small child. I recall people like debunkers saying no it’s CGI and photoshop of a kid replacing a seal. But it never looked like that it looked like a toddler standing there and getting eaten up. I know there is footage of orcas doing the same thing to seals but never seen this original (very grey stormy sky, cold looking beach, dark blue ocean so somewhere northern or during winter somewhere, darkish sand not the bright tan sand of like Florida or elsewhere) with a seal, just ever saw the one with the small child. This would be cryptidlike behavior because while we know killer whales can kill humans, scientists maintain it has only ever happened in captivity and all other attacks were non fatal or whoopsies if caused harm. I’ve searched but can’t find it, anyone ever seen this clip?
