Welcome to the CPE thread. Share your paranormal experiences from when you were a child.

Here's mine:
I was roughly 7 years old when an event happened that has stuck with me since. As a young adult, I simply shrugged the experience off as unusual, but beyond my child understanding. It wasn't until I turned about 15 that I realized this was more than unusual, it was paranormal. I divulged the story to my group of friends, and afterwards, I was surprised with how many follow up questions each of them had. They asked for details big and small, it caught me off guard, and I tried to recall as much as I could for them. It was at that time it all dawned on me.

>be me, ~7 years old
My family was hosting a party outside on a warm spring or summer day. It wasn't a birthday party, maybe some Holiday like Memorial day. I remember my parents hustling in the morning to bring out chairs from the basement, unfolding the wooden collapsible tables with metal legs, and generally sprucing up the yard before guests arrived. I always loved the big coolers littered with sodas, Snapple, and water for us kids. The day was largely normal. The sun was beating down, but it wasn't burning us up. The kids ran around the yard, chasing each other with water guns and those splash ball toys. The adults sat around the table, laughing obnoxiously, and retelling the stories they told every party. I remember that 85% of the people were my direct family, but there were the odd group of kids I didn't know, or the weird guy/girl someone was dating that got brought along.

After eating way too much beans, burger, and mac salad, I was resigned to just sitting with the adults. I listened to them tell their stories, and wondered why they loved beer so much. After 20 minutes of hearing Uncle John tell some story, I got up and let my mind wander. Our yard was large. In the furthest corner in the left sat our metal shed where the mower, gasoline, and other yard tools were stored. I figured,

>”I’ll go look behind the shed. Maybe one of the other kids threw a baseball or something fun back there.”

I went to the left side of the shed. To my right would be the outer shed wall, and to my left was a rickety fence with vegetation overgrowth. That’s when I saw the man in the suit.

Keep in mind, this was a very warm day. We were in shorts, sandals, and t-shirts. The man was wearing a 3-piece suit, tie and all. This wasn’t that unusual, but the suit jacket looked heavy, like it was made of wool. He was already looking at me when I turned the corner. We stared at each other, I was stunned in fear, and I assumed maybe he felt awkward by my sudden appearance.

>”Oh, I’m sorry mister.”
I said, wondering if I snuck up on him while he was taking a leak. Nothing. No response from the man, no smile, no blink, no movement at all. I stared for a few more seconds, but those seconds felt like minutes. I just remember closing my eyes and starting to cry. I didn’t recognize the guy, and just felt like I was in trouble or danger.

My dad yanked me away, asking what was wrong. I continued to sob uncontrollably and pointed in the direction of the left side of the shed. My dad checks.

>What? What happened?!
>The…the man is scaring me…

My dad holds my hand and walks with me to the side of the shed.

>See? It’s okay. It’s okay buddy! Nobody is here.

And he was right, there was nobody there. But there was something. At the end of the grass alley was a perfect circle of dead grass, exactly where the man was standing. I had just been in that area looking at the man, the grass was lush green and overgrown. It still was, except for the spot where the man once stood. There was no way the man would have been able to escape to the left side because of the overgrowth of vegetation, plus, he looked well into his 60’s or 70’s. We also had a chainlink fence directly behind the shed, and on the other side were large hedge bushes. If the man escaped in any direction, it would have made some noise or visual rustle, especially since my dad was there just seconds after I started crying. And what about the dry grass patch? It looked almost like someone had an upside down bucket on the area for months, but I am certain it was not that way just moments earlier.

To this day, I believe it was a spirit or alien. I like to believe this was a spectral vision of a family member I had never met. His spirit visiting for one last family gathering. Maybe his unmoving silence wasn’t a threat, but he stood just as stunned as I was after seeing a living family member that exists on Earth, well after his time had come due.

That's mine. Well /x/ what are your childhood paranormal experiences?

>garage sale
>mom buys a large troll looking doll
>old bitch (60s-ish) remarks that it's haunted and laughs
>buys it anyway
>2 months later
>sitting on the daybed in the downstairs living room watching Nick at Night
>doll walks right into the room and sits down cross-legged, facing the TV
>mfw
>frozen in terror for like 3 hours
>trying not to make a sound so doll doesn't come at me
>mom storms into room to harass me about being up so late
>doll suddenly falls over flat on the floor
>try to explain the situation
>dumb fuck starts gaslighting me that I was "seeing things"
>doesn't know I have aphantasia and can't "see" things
>still getting gaslit about it years later

it's almost sorta funny in retrospect...
we still have the poltergeist, too, but I'm too old and jaded for its tricks
if it tried walking a doll in front of me these days I'd just laugh my ass off, and I think it knows that

>just chillin in my aunts house on a random afternoon because mom is a drug addict
>aunt said she will gonna be buying groceries and will be back soon
>an hour has passed since she left home
>starts panik mode* and think she died on her way home
>suddenly hear my name getting called in a very hurrying voice
>thinks its my aunt back from the grocery
>omw to the door and realized that the voices are coming from the walls
>not only like one part of the wall like all of the wall in the living room just started to call me

after that i have no memories of what happend after that experience. And im going to be real its a real experience not some random dream that has been mixed with my memory because it felt real, and i also asked my aunt if she remembers but she doesn't too

Not a crazy story like some of the other anons but I have digital proof.
>middle of night
>trying one of those shitty room 3D scanner apps.
>room in basement
>all lights on in room, lights off in basement.
>scanner app was legit and not a prank app of some kind
>do crappy 3D scan, spinning it around mildly amused
>see picrel figure in doorway
>Look up at doorway, doesn't match the picture at all, pitch black.
>Screenshot and sit in an unusual silence staring at doorway
>Get an awe-filled yet uneasy feeling, feels like some benevolent powerful force is watching me or passing by. I can liken it to a bear or mountain-lion running past you on a trail and scaring the shit out of you but leaving you alone.
>moment passes and I try to figure out what happened.
>turn on lights in the basement and take secondary pictures/scans of the doorway and no matter how much I mess with the brightness or contrast can I replicate the figure.

Never seen this guy again. I like to call him 'the bagman' because it looks like a 7-8ft tall man with a burlap suit and mask on. Either it was some crazy fluke graphical glitch or some kind of passing spirit.

One story that I remember vividly:
>I'm 6 or so
>My brother and I are outside playing outside in the woods
>It's near sunset
>We're walking back home
>Suddenly, my brother yells, "Run, anon, or the wolves are going to get us."
>We both start running but he's way faster
>I get close to the home door and I start to feel like there are actually wolves behind me
>I hear them snarling and snapping, inches from me
>I get inside and slam the door behind me. I feel like crying but am more just stunned
>My older brother laughs and asks why I'm so freaked out
>Also we lived in a state with no known wolves
>but those wolves were real man

Second story:
>Be maybe 4
>I'm at grandma's house
>It's kind of weird there but I like grandma, she's nice
>I start exploring the house
>I go up the stairs and then up into her attic
>My memories are blank from here on out, I only know that I saw something very scary or unsettling
>I currently feel uncomfortable even as I'm writing this
>I want to know what was in the attic, but maybe some things are best forgotten

Back when I was a kid I wouldn't want to sleep in my own room because I was scared of the dark. I'd go to sleep in my mom's room which from where your head was on the bed had a diagonal view into my room and the bunkbed in it. On the morning of my fifth or seventh birthday, I woke up and immediately saw that in each bunk of my bed was a full sized garden gnome straight out of that one Goosebumps episode that I was absolutely freaked out of as a kid. My older sister, who for some reason was also sleeping in my mom's bed, was also there and also saw them. We both freaked the fuck out because it's two giant freaky gnomes in a bed and ran downstairs to tell our parents. Apparently, my sister showed my grandma them later on that night, but no one in my family remembers this happening. My sister would occasionally say she saw gnomes in her room and refused to sleep in there for a while when she was in her later teens.
