https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Darger

>From his Wikipedia article:

"From around the early 1910s to the late 1930s, Darger wrote the 15,145-page novel In the Realms of the Unreal, centered on a rebellion of child slaves on a fantastical planet. The chief protagonists are the Vivian Girls, who fight to free the children from the enslaving Glandelinians. Inspired by the American Civil War and martyrdom stories, it features lengthy, gruesome descriptions of battles, many ending with the mass killing of rebel children. Between 1912 and 1925, Darger produced collages, often only loosely correlated to the book. Later he made these with watercolors and traced figures taken from popular sources such as magazines and children's books. These paintings grew more elaborate over time, with some of his largest works exceeding 10 feet (3 m) in length. Little girls, often in combat, are a primary focus; for unknown reasons, they are frequently depicted naked and exclusively with male genitalia."

I hear some people say this dude was a pedo and possibly even a killer, while others say he was a decent but disturbed man do to his upbringing/environment.

IDK what to think desu. Maybe he was just trying to express his feelings and experiences via art, but maybe something darker is behind it.

Maybe he was a major sicko, hence the little girls. Maybe this dude is not even real, and this is some weird hoax.
For some reason, it reminds me of something vaguely Japanese. The story is literally about l01i futas if we are being honest, just without the p0rn factor(as far as I know).

Is this dude and his work/x/? Is he Epstein adjacent, or was he a fine fellow?

Thanks in advance as always!

It was definitely channeled work, I mean it's thousands of pages per volume. Very interesting, possibly described actual conflicts on some alien world or dimension but filtered through darger's understanding.

I can see this being the case.

That's just a maladaptive daydreaming gigachad. He simply decided to write about and draw the fantasies going on in his mind. He was also very reclusive at a time when there wasn't such great entertainment, it was probably just enjoyable to him. I doubt that there is anything truly questionable involved because the children are the good guys and fight back. The child killings are shown to be morally reprehensible. Epsteinesque people dehumanize their child victims.

From what I understand, the fate of the loli army basically was decided about how he felt about God/his faith at the time. While he was upset at God, he made them be the loosing side and actually made his self-insert join the bad said. This was because he lost a pic of a little girl from the newspaper article on her murder, and was rather miffed about it, even giving God an ultimatium.

He eventually makes it favor the good guys. He seemed to be slip on their fate at the end, and made both a bad ending and a good one for the loli army, on opposite sides of the same page.

There are some strange things about him and his stories for sure. But I think that we have to take it into context that these are basically his own internal fantasies, made for himself. It's not uncommon for people to feel like an edgy middle schooler and get angry at God over dumb stuff. Dark fantasies are common in people who daydream a lot. That's why it's doubtful that it means something that serious. But I find Darger relatable, so maybe I'm biased.

What you said about him being super interested in the picture of a child murder victim is super weird though.

Because they are not really girls. He wanted to get that point across? I think the homos keep those kind of slaves IRL, and the whole system covers it up.

Thank you for making this thread OP.
Henry Darger is a saint and a fascinating figure. His artwork is very cool, and there is a museum in Chicago in which they've actually transplanted the interior of his apartment. The man even used to make his own paints.
The Realms of the Unreal documentary is my favorite doc ever.
I have no idea where this idea that Darger was malicious comes from, and no, I will not be clicking those shitbait videos you posted.
The reason he drew females with male genitalia is because he lived his entire life without knowing female genitalia were different from his own. He was an innocent man with a brilliant mind. He connected with God. He had a very very difficult life and now he is remembered and celebrated for his efforts. I think about him all the time. It brings me peace to know that despite suffering greatly, he is celebrated. Don't slander him. The themes, events, and violence in his works reflect the reality in which he lived. They're a metaphysical outpouring of his human experience.
The world would be a better place is we were more like him. Kind, passionate, sincere, and innocent.

He was sent to an asylum as a kid
Was definitely abused there
Afterwards he thought of himself as a protector of children, as someone who would prevent the same abuses he suffered from being done on others
In his story, the murdered girl ( Elsie Paroubek) is fictionalized as Annie Aronburg, the leader of the child slave rebellion, whose assassination leads to the war which his novel and art depicts.
To me, Darger's story is unbelievable sad. He was just traumatized as a child, and became mentally fucked as a result. His art was just a product of that mental state.

I do not really buy this explanation for it. Some of his pieces have guts and other organs exposed, plus he worked in a hospital, and seemed to like other foreign anatomy on girls(horns, wings, tails, etc.). I feel like he would have had exposure to the female form at least in drawings and pictures.

Why? IDK, I do not think he was homo either. I feel like it might have been symbolism or him just recounting it how it was. It is really interesting how similar it is to certain Japanese stuff, almost like that stem from the same source. Hmmm...

He invented the magical girl genre, you ungrateful fuck

Some think he thought women weren't fit for war or military service, so he was "equipping" them for it

Funny that you say that, someone wrote a book about that.
I learned of him because of it.
They do stem from the same source: sexual repression and sublimation (according to the book). Though Darger's traumatic past and mental issues made the whole thing more alien.

Checked and that sounds like a really cool book, might check it out.

IDK, from what I heard he thought of girls/females as stronger than boys/males, and that they were rather underestimated.

If this is true, then there would be no need of pinguses added.
