You can actually tell this is CGI. The lighting on the "earth" looks like sphere shading in 1995 modelling engines.

No. If you are far away enough I won't be able to hit you with my gun. Like, if someone drops a nuclear bomb in your home and somehow you manage to scape the radius of the blast them you will be safe, but this can only happen if you respect the distance of the radius of the blast.
