I've been thinking a lot these days about starting a gnostic/mystic/cynic club in my area, but I'm not sure if it can be done without being cringe or gay. I was thinking maybe a nextdoor post inviting people to work out in the part and read something old. There are many possibilities but honestly given how rare these hypothetical like-minded locals probably are, I should cast a wide net and just make it a Comparative Mythology club. But reading seems gay already. People don't really want to get together so they can take turns reading something. Its awkward and feels unnatural. Maybe we could Sing scripture, which might be a little more true to the subject matter. Maybe no reading at all, but everyone brings a pamphlet to share or topic to discuss. Maybe we discuss how to properly build shrines or whether all art is idol worship (I read Apocalypse of Abraham recently).
