Some time ago, someone read Tarot cards for me and they revealed I should be authentic and stop wearing masks How can I achieve that, spiritually speaking?
You can begin by looking at the reasons as to why you have masks to begin with. Were you punished or rewarded for being authentic in your reactions and behaviors ? Have you been attracted to ideals or personalities that embodied things you lack ? How often are your actions motivated by social presentation ? How different would you be if you were completely invisible and no one could ever see you ? That sort of stuff. Also ditch the "spiritually thinking" aspect, because masks are a social reality first and a spiritual one second. If you focus too much on the spiritual aspect you will miss the real reasons you have been masking, and it will come back.best of luck anon
Authenticity is when you shit yourself and you show it to the person. 4chan is authentic.

>>42290509>Have you been attracted to ideals or personalities that embodied things you lack ?In this case, should I try to embody them because they reflect something within or is it just something I wish to have but is not necessarily a part of me and is yet another mask? How can I tell the difference?
>>42290492Perhaps look into Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist who was a pupil of Freud and an adept of Nietzsche. He sort of developed the idea of "Shadow work" the idea being that we present an ego to the world (your mask) but your trueself is not the ego, it lies behind the mask where the light does not necessarily shine and lays instead in darkness. The Shadow is not the whole self but is part of the self, it is the part of us we deny for one reason or another, be it because of how society might view us or our own opinions, etcetera, it is a repressed self.To become whole, to become authentic, Jung says that we must delve into our shadow, we must come to understand and to also incorporate the shadow and to be made whole by it. When one represses the shadow, the shadow becomes worse, it will eventually lash out of our control and manifest in actions and feelings that are wholly negative. For instance one may have self loathing, a feeling of inadequacy and yet the will put on a mask of confidence, they will act like the perfect man. And yet every once in awhile the mask slips, the shadow is revealed, he lashes out towards those he sees as better than him, his insecurities drive him to belittle others or to avoid growth himself. So he must address this self loathing, he must come to terms, either accept them or to strive to be better despite them, to grow from them. Perhaps in time the mask will drop completely and yet if the shadow has been incorporated there will not be the insecure, petty creature once repressed but a man truly fleshed out and whole, assured of himself and his abilities and yet also humble, willing to learn from others better than he.This is but one of many examples.
>>42290561NTA but think about yourself, what do you do not for yourself but for others. For instance, small talk is a big one for me, I hate small talk, I refuse to do it because to engage in it would be a refusal of myself in exchange for the acceptance of others. I used to do small talk, I'd pretend it didn't infuriate me because the payoff was that life was a bit easier, people were mor willing to help me, now I come off as an antisocial asshole but I have more peace of mind.On the other hand I have a very high sense of honor, I refuse to betray others regardless if I will gain from it or avoid punishment, this led to me butting heads with the officers and chiefs when I was in the navy. Meanwhile many other sailors would simply do what they're told, would rat on other sailors all the time because it what was expected in the navy.>masks are a social reality first and a spiritual one secondI think masks, while social, kill you spiritually. It is ultimately a denial of self and therefore a denial of soul. Enough denial of soul will eventually lead to the death of soul, whereas being authentic and true will lead to growth of soul so to speak.
It sounds like "autism masking".If you are neurodivergent you can find more and better information about on the internet (Google, social networks, chatgpt. Everything is better that 4chan) or asking a psychologist. If that is not the case, I will try to give you an advice:Do you have self-esteem? Do you like how you are? Do you like people like you?If answer is yes, congratulations. Go next. Else, ask yourself what it is you don't like about you or about someone like you. Then try to change it, strive to change what you don't like about yourself. Focus on correct and change, not on hide and mask. Don't pretend to be someone you're not. Be who you want to be, and continue being who you want to be even if no one is watching. If you like you. Think about what you don't want show. Ask you why and if it is "your problem" or "their problem". If it is "their problem" accept the risk or switch companies. It will be worth it.This isn't easy and it's scary, but it's worth it.
>>42290561You're free to use them, but remind yourself they're not you, and that what is you might not even be fixed, yours, or tangible to begin with. Winds and winds. We're free, at the end of the day. The questions are misleading, only the intent, pure, rough, unshaped, is really true, and odds are, it already knows what to do and will simply be confused by excessive intellectualization. But can you be honest enough to differenciate ? A mask is as useful as its purpose, and a mask is as useless as its misplacedness. There is no shame in having one so long as your work continues. Using one will twist you into something you originally are not, but you can own it if you remain aware, and if you learn to take it off and put it back gracefully, without hurting yourself. It is absolutely damaging and will test your resilience, you are teaching your soul to grow limbs out of shapelessness, but it will also refine you, rid you of the useless, both in self and in persona. Just make sure it doesnt stay fixated, be aware that you will experience its loss as a personal death. You're free to explore this world and incarnate yourself as you wish, just try to make it so that you do not reach for attributes that aren't meant to be yours, that you do not try to live this life in a costume that isnt quite your size. It will kill your body first and your soul second. Disregard those who tell you that they are above masking, because it just so happens to them that their situation is fortunate, or that they simply arent cut for the work of masking. Lots of them will go "teehee that's the way I am :3" and that will serve them as nothing but an easy way out so that their soul doesnt need to be tested. It never was about mask making, but about mask-tearing."Dont you ever try to be more than you were destined for, or anything worth fighting for"
>>42290618It will kill you if you give up on yourself. You can absolutely conform to a shape that is not yours and feels hurtful to employ and remain true to your purpose behind the mask. A lot of people fail at that, maybe it is that the stakes arent high enough, maybe it is something else, but the fact remain, the soul will be scratched, cut, hurt, but can only perish what accepts to be vainquished. Best of luck out there.
