Hey guys, was reading through the lizard king games workshop pick a path and the main antagonist is not the lizard king but rather the spider which has attached itself to the brain of the lizard king., what with the conspicuous suspicious under eye bruise everyone gets in Hollywood, is there any credence to this idea that one can get a parasite that controls the brain, and obviously once there is one they would want to perpetuate its species. also if it can do this without altering the hosts appearance, unlike the mindflayer (however it is a perfect model for my idea) is the lizard king and the mindflayers soft disclosure for this human attaching parasite(Not cordeceps but something that would have complete control) perhaps giving the hosts body as a sense of eerie calmness which we would read as uncanny and eerie due to the parasites unique biology causing a different behavior set than the pre-infected host, also where they would deny or integrate as before as not to out themselves. I am really curious on your guys response, no wish fulfillment schizo responses, only want additive theories.
>>42293460>is there any credence to this idea that one can get a parasite that controls the brainOf course. Toxoplasma gondii is already proven to change human behavior. Not that far fetched that there would be more advanced parasites.
>>42293460>>42293506Even more than this, consider (benign) bacteria in general. It isn't even fully understood or mapped all the bacteria that live in the human body and their roles, but its clear they can influence our bodies and minds (and the other way around as well, presumably). When you start thinking about host-parasite type relationships in the context of the human body, its kind of a rabbit hole you never come back from.
>>42293460wish my gf would kiss me like thatwhat are the spiritual implications?
>>42293518 true the gut brain axis, wonderfully put, learnt about that in my microbiology class, wonder if microbiota talk (for lack of a better word) i.e influencing host behavior so they procreate with a partner with a complementary gut biome.
>>42293506yeah that makes you more affectionate and aggressive i believe , so definite behaviour change there!
>>42293460Lancet Liver Flukes take full control of ants at night/when they sense a grazer near by. This is so they can get eaten by a cow or maybe sheep or deer and infect and breed in their new host's liver.
>>42293697 so more proof of controlling behaviour and evolution towards a mammal species host, once they have migrated from ant to cow after being eaten. thank you for your response.
