I grew up in monotheism but was never really religious or a consistent practitioner my whole life. I found buddhism for a while and it clicked quite nicely but idk I just couldn't hold a consistent practice with meditation or it felt like going in circles and I just bowed out. Became spiritually homeless and I've been in a hedonist kick over the last week and month and honestly its been kinda nice, lowkey it makes me wonder why not join the so called "dark side" ? Or tap into negative energies in a way that serves me? Or should I just keep walking and restart buddhism or something?

The good that gets worshipped and valued is ultimately rooted in strength/beauty and other vain values. You can do the right thing but if you are ugly as sin - you'll probably be punished for it. You're lost as I was for years, and you can do some research as I had done but don't go all the way please. I was looking for 'truth' and got in some pretty far-out mindsets, but it lead me to the lowest depths I ever felt. I had devolved to an automatic state of 'living' using drugs, porn and alcohol to make me relax and looping back into despair. At that time though, I asked God for help and to take the weight of my pain and suffering from my shoulders. Believe me or not, after 1 or 2 painful nights of sadness my mind and heart became at ease and I started to get a clearer picture of a path that maybe I should take. Nothing had helped me figure things out in my own head like that before. I re-entered the Christian faith with a fresh mindset of my own and realized that so many other Christians are being led astray by a false version of their religion thats being used to control them by those in power. I'll continue later after work, but please try praying to God from your heart.
