As far as art critic, maybe try playing with negative space some more and diversity to the surrounding visuals that seem relevant. It adds to the overall piece I would say as in the pic I already posted, would be a little more boring if it was a close up of the two and empty viewing conveys themes of isolation for the wheelchair bound person as another example.
