>Is lost media paranormal? I've been waiting for another lost media thread but I haven't seen any. Anyway tldr: In the early 2000s my big brother and I got a bunch of mp3 files from mp3.com, limewire, Napster etc. There was this one ska, ska core, or ska punk song that went something like "Why do I have to be far away from you?" and the file name was far_away_from_you.mp3 or far_away_from_me.mp3 or something else like that.We had a cdr with all the mp3s on it and I found it recently but it's cracked. Unreadable now. I'd love to find that song again. Also, lost media general thread. Maybe somebody's got the Christine Chubbock suicide footage you never know?
Francis E. Dec,.esq's lost papers. He was an American lawyer who in the 60s-80s started to write and mass mail idiosincratic rants about the nefarious MAD DEADLY GANGSTER COMPUTER GOD ruling the world, also uncovering the dirty dealings of figures such as Abe Lin Cohen and Dwight Eisenshanker, or the truth about Nazi Jewmany, or how our brains are stored in Brain Banks on the Moon. A radio personality got a hold of several of his rants, recorded them and later distributed the tapes among friends. From there many people gradually were exposed to his writings and became a minor celebrity with those who enjoyed fringe subjects, Dec was the darling of Kookdom, he even got an entry into Donna Kossy's classic book about crazies. Several music tracks used his words. Dec was extremely reclusive and refused to meet anyone..by the mid 1990s his health got worse and was interned in a Veteran's Hospital. Some idiots traced him and paid him a visit,. just to make fun of him, dressing like Men in black and asking him dumb questions. Dec couldn't even spoke. He would die in 1995 or 1996. The prank visit scared Dec's brother so much he burned any.paper Francis Dec had ever wrote or own, true fans of Dec shed a year every time they think of how much truth and schizopoetry was lost that day. Today schizos can never reach the heights Mr. Francis E. Dec, esq. achieved.
>>42310858Legendary. Unhinged and poetic. Love the recordings of his shit.https://youtube.com/watch?v=6H1P4FxIWVk
>>42310978I always wonder if certain specific acts of corruption Dec denounced were true. Like the guy he claimed wanted to put his son in an asylum and take his money.
>>42310782There's a million TV commericals that are forever lost because people with VCRs/DVRs either didn't record them, or their recording degraded and was lost to time.
>>42311025I heard many early tv commercials, from the 40s are lost, I know Ed Wood's commercials for several business actually survived.
>>42310782Chivalry by Yabujin has been something ive been looking to find for ages after i first saw it, i know it exists and theres more than a few people who have it, but its gate kept super heavily. those who have it have spoken about as something unironically magical and hyper-malicious.
Edge of Tomorrow, first UFO movie: Reinhold Schmidt, back in the 50s, contactee star from the golden age of flying saucers, back when an UFO convention (think of a fair but with more lofty rhetoric) could attract thousands of people. He claimed to have been in contact with the Space Brothers (the quaint term of the era for aliens), they even allowed him to board the spaceship, and of.course they gave Mr. Schmidt the usual speech about peace and love and promise show him the rocketship used by the Egyptians,.which was,.conveniently, hidden in the Great Pyramid. His story got so popular, he started shilling his crystal and mining business,.promising huge profits to those who invested in his gold mines in Alaska ( guided by the Space Brothers, who were also business consultants apparently). Wherever he went people packed halls listening to his lectures about outer space and its fauna. He got so famous, a couple of filmmakers approached him and proposed to make a movie about Schmidt 's experience, the funny thing is that it got made. Some say it's the first movie about the UFO phenomenon. I tried searching for it, I'm really curious about it, the movie stars Schmidt as himself, recreating several of the contacts he claimed to have had. The movie sunk into obscurity when Schmidt was sentenced for defrauding a widow with useless rock. That movie, no matter how boring, was or is a time capsule of the beginnings of High Strangeness.
>>42311019I don't remember where now, but I read somewhere once upon a time a theory by a Dec enthusiast that there was probably some legitimacy especially to his early writings before he completely lost his mind. It's possible that there actually was some sort of government corruption and legitimate plots against him. Knowing what I know about dark triad personalities, those types of people are not new and have gravitated towards positions of power ever since the dawn of humanity. They are also really good at finding weaknesses, and if they can identify that someone has a mental illness, they will do everything they can to exploit that person and dismiss their criticism as symptoms of their unfortunate condition. I know there is less than a snowball's chance in hell that anyone will find the song I'm looking for but the Francis E Dec discourse is worth it if that's all that happens in this thread! It's alarming how few /x/philes seem to know about him. I have seen subtle references to his rants go unanswered on this board. I usually only lurk but I have dropped a Decism here and there that seemed to fly over everyone's head. Glad to see the good people are in this thread!
>>42311363This board doesn't seem to appreciate literature in general, they don't even seem to care about NUMERALS. I tried reading about Frank Gulotta, Dec's apparent nemesis, couldn't find anything shady.
The Cat Creeps (1930) was partially found and is going to have a reconstruction made. The Gorilla (1927) was found but has only been shown theatrically. Go and Get It (1920) was found and is up on Youtube. The original ending of Dracula (1931) was found.>>42310782>Unreadable nowI feel your pain.

>>42311513>your pain.I was visiting my parents back in February and my mom found an old box of my stuff in the attic. In that box was a binder with a bunch of old papers and stuff from school, mostly shitty drawings I did and awful Star Trek fanfics I wrote. And in that binder was the cdr. My heart skipped a beat when I saw it and then immediately dropped when I saw the crack. What really made it sad for me was the fact that my bro had burned that cd for us to listen to. It wasn't even an audio cd. It had the mp3s burned to it so there were 31 songs on it. Had to listen to it on the computer of course. It was just a way I was hoping to reconnect with his memory after all these years. More than a few of the songs that had been on that disk are on YouTube. But that one song I can't remember the name of, I haven't been able to find in all these years.
>>42312202Do you remember any of the lyrics?
>>42312211"I wish you were here. Why do I need to be far away from you? I still love you."Also it was like an indie ska band. Not garage or really low-fi but also not really slick and well produced. Somewhere in between really. Also definitely ska. There was a horn section.
>>42310782>>42312202>>42313491Ohai friend! I saw you in the previous post media thread. Might this be what you're looking for?http://gangadiddle.com/far_away_from_you.mp3

>>42313807How did you find this? I'm sorry I didn't believe you. I'm just feeling some kind of way right now. Overwhelmed. This is it. This is the song. How did you managed just based on I didn't give many details didn't have many to give I'm just really affected right now. It's a corny song but my bro and I we fucking skanked to this song so goofy and stupid but it's one of those memories of him that I'll never forget it was right before he shipped out. I didn't think it was possible. Where was this? What site was it on? I see the artist is still listed as unknown. I'm sorry I'm just IDK this was so unexpected I mean in a good way thank you thank you thank you!
The idea of lost media seems silly because we are already aware of that majority of media is just tools for conditioning/brainwashing/harassing/attacking/etc.
>>42314798I have access to certain resources not available to the general public. I use this for my own research purposes but sometimes my interests intersect with people looking for lost media. Most I don't pursue but sometimes one comes along who I can help. Today that was you. And you are welcome. kthxbai
>>42314835Whatever that all means. I am just grateful. Thank you again.
I'm so glad for you, Op. To recover what was lost, what a feeling.
>>42315079I'll try to phrase this on a way that isn't too stupid. Yes. It's a great but bittersweet feeling to hear that song again. I never thought I would. I just wish I could get my bro back. But I know that's not possible. I know it seems goofy to some people to be so affected by a song but over the years I've learned to process my grief in my way and yeah whatever at the end of the day I'll take what I can and what I got today is more than I thought possible.

>>42318329Didn't they reconstruct the movie with whatever materials were left? This is an extremely niche type of media I remember, there was a video where people from a forum about movies named all the strange and obscure movies showed in a Something Weird Video showcase tape titled Something Weird Shock Stock, it is an advertisement, catalogue video presenting all the movies the company sells. And these people took all the effort to name every single segment, except one from a documentary where an explorer made some natives dance to a phonograph record. It was a nice collective effort, I can't find the video anymore, it was up for years till it got took down at some point. A shame. The Shock Stock video is still around but without the identification of the movies.
