It is never mentioned in the bible that suicide is a sin. People got this idea from Exodus 20:13, "You shall not murder."
People then took great leaps of misunderstanding, mental gymnastics. "Murder is a sin, suicide is self-murder, therefore suicide is a sin."
What Jesus did was technically a form of suicide. He walked into death knowingly. By letting the romans murder him when he had full capability to stop them, he technically murdered himself. With those same mental gymnastics we could then say that what he did was very selfish, because he deprived the world of the living son of God and "took the easy way out". It would have been the first and last time he sinned, but he is still without sin.

Humans are naturally averse to the idea of death, be it the death in the family, the tribe, or themselves. This instinct is necessary; without it, tribes would be very unproductive as no-one would care enough to warn each other of dangers, or save each other from death. Men and women would not reproduce if they didn't fear death, or at the very least it would lead to a lot of orphans and dysfunctional families. You become depressed when someone you love dies, because they were important to you.
A void is there. It feels like a piece is missing. Something is missing from your life with no hope of retrieval. It's quite literal in that regard. The pre-death form of grieving is love. In mankinds natural fear of death, we do everything we can to extend peoples lives as long as possible, at times to their detriment. We lie and tell them that things WILL (not might) get better. To add insult to injury we tell them that they're going to the same place murderers, rapists, and genociders go, to suffer the same punishment for the crime of not being able to bear it. You know who else wasn't able to bear it? The guy you worship, you peanuthead cow.

tl;dr Hell for suicide is cautionary fiction written by grieving families for suicidals.

The "no forgiveness for suicide" policy is catholic mythology and nowhere to be found in scripture. That being said, if you die rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ, you go to hell irrespective of how you die.

I like Emmanuel Swedenborg's claim that there is a very consistent continuity between this life and the next. So much so that some people don't even realize they're dead for a little while after. What this means is that, if your suicide is an attempt to escape some negative thing, but that negative thing is inside your psyche, which it often is, then it's not going to work. You're going to take that negativity with you no matter where you go until you figure out a way to deal with it. And it might actually be easier to deal with it here than the afterlife. Who really knows though.

Its the same as people who are dreaming but don't realize its a dream. They act like its just real physical life and go about their work or school without ever noticing anything wrong. Even if you are completely lucid and do magic right in front of them, their psyche will filter it out as if nothing extraordinary is happening.
Its kind of like a racoon they are in. If they are still inside their shell, living or dead, their soul will still only reveal what they are ready for, and not a bit more.

The system will break down if enough people kill themselves
It's like a machine if it cannot reprocess the """""defective""""" (by who's definition mind you) products they will blow up (commit suicide) and break it down
Think of an engine if you use too much force it blows up but if you use too little then it's useless
You play with the doll too much it dies but if you play too little that's no good
You need a happy balance to maximize suffering

my guess is at some point in history all a king's/church's laborers killed themselves for the reward and a rule had to be added.

Because Love is the fuel that drives creation. To resort to suicide, senseless murder, or injuring a child's innocence is to turn your back on it. All forgiving yes, but it can't forgive what refuses to face it.

God is not all forgiving, is it? If you are talking about the God of the bible, he is not all forgiving. He kills people through natural disasters or plagues or God commands someone to kill you and your tribe. How can God be all forgiving when we have all of this in mind? I think most people care about suicide because they themselves don't want to die and when they see someone willingly taking their own lives then this makes then not understand what just happened. I think deep down we care about suicide because a suicide is a soul who kills oneself and deep down this is sad if you think about it. Why is it sad? Because the person is hurting oneself, you are attacking your own life. Like, if God really dwells inside us then you are destrying a holy temple and that is sad.

to kill yourself is to deny life (and everything that entails). there's really two suicides, the manic and the ascetic - the first, the quick and final, is weak and noncommittal, just wanting (out of low aesthetic reasoning) an end of one's passing discomfort, and it's manifested in clumsy and uncertain means - it begs for some mishap to invite itself, that you'll live and regret it (which you will, as most all suicide survivors do)
the latter, the ascetic, is what Schopenhauer envisioned - starvation, a total committal to denying the will, it's resolute, long term and excruciating; the out is ever present, it's just a matter of eating. It's very telling that the former do not do this, nor would they even entertain the notion, but whatever the case for them (maybe they could be saved, I can't know), those who truly commit suicide in the latter sense are condemned by their own hand - they lived to the bitter end in service of subverting the good.
