Anyone else feel like advertising is inherently evil?

Why are normies being forced to watch YouTube ads for shit like McDonald's that are designed to kill them for example???

Cigarettes were advertised from the jump with the help of Sogmund Freuds nephew

Hell even the ads here on 4chan are evil (I mean seriously, who keeps laying for those stupid Nobody thread ads??? Why have an additional for a thread full of bots? That glows pretty hard)

they wouldn't do it if people didn't fall
for it.

As a master wizard, yes. It's adjacent to necromancy on the magic wheel.
>>
>feel like
there's no "feeling" here. it's an overt psychic attack and you must protect yourself or suffer the consequences. if someone swings a sword at you and you don't block the attack, you will suffer a wound. if someone advertises poison to you and you don't go out of your way to block it, it's the same.
>>
This seem like the perfect place to ask.
What the hell are those nobody threads about?

so you'd rather stare at a desolate, dystopian, bare brick and mortar landscape like in russia?

Gray spaces without advertising - this would be good for the nerves, if they were not crippled by man.
It's much worse when you encounter an advertisement that makes no sense to you or is clearly negative. Not just because you don't have the money or the slightest interest, but when it humiliates you and points to your lack of future. Especially in contrast to the background. Similar to more inappropriate signs, they create an unbearable impression for a normal person, plus the use of hostile architecture and distorted speech (Newspeak).
This can't just be bloopers and random mistakes on such a scale.
(The text on the fence says "Happy Housewarming!")

Yep, words are magic, and Using words to make money is black magic.

From the Cow's perspective, the Farm Truck Motor Advertises the Hay.

Does that make the farmer the Cows friend?

Advertising used to be about informing people about new products, now it's about big brands using up available space so smaller brands can't be seen and violating boundaries to demonstrate to you that you can't escape then.
>>
Modern advertising is scientifically engineered in a lab to gigafry your brain in less than a second.
Old advertisments, while still profit-driven, were designed by artists and often had artistic value beyond selling something.

yes advertising is evil,
also there is another important law
>everything that is subject to commercialism is subject to corruption

true weaving happens when there is no commercial mind (transaction-y, shallow, discriminatory mind)
>>
If I see your ad, I will not buy your product. Unless it's short and unexpectedly funny which just doesn't happen anymore.
>>

Not necessarily for the reasons you listed (I think the Nobody threads are fine), but working for a business to induce others into doing what'll profit them is something negative–keyword being "induce"—just plain advertising to raise awareness about a service or product is fine.
