>>42332064magic wand making. i might prepare & release something interesting i found at some point, but it'd take some work to do.speaking of work. gonna drop some fat spoilers on magic wands. dropped branches is lame junk. the trees discarded those, they're not effective. twigs and drifwood are absolutely useless. for REAL tree spirit magic, you want fresh live trunks. smaller trees & shrubs you'll want to harvest older ones, for big species you'll want saplings. this will be a learning process with loads of work on your end. some species are hard to procure, such as lilac, but lilac specifically is super easy to carve. i recommend for lilac & willow, you may want to leave some under-bark flesh in the grip region. deciduous tree wands are ready for spellcasting instantly. you don't need to pitifully beg a tree for some puny limb it doesn't feel attached to, and picking up fallen old sticks is like digging in the trash. you want to be assertive, find a proper-sized young or old tree with a good sized trunk and straight up tell it to its face that it's going to be a magic wand, deal with it. as soon as you harvest it, get right straight to work ASAP. hack off all the limbs because some species like aspen will instantly try to regrow and drain their vitality. you want to keep as much vitality as possible in the harvested trunk.conifers are really a different category. conifer trunk wands take a really long time to make in comparison, and it's incredibly messy, intricate, careful, time-consuming, tool-consuming, and super rewarding. conifer trunk wands take the first 2 days of multi hours of carefully removing the bark, under-bark, resin, and it's enormously sticky and looks gruesome. stripped conifers look gorey like butchered animals, but that power is just incredible. it takes 3-4 days to get them to the point where you can take them out of the workshop area, but they still need more work. you'll feel a weird power and go through strange emotions.
