Is modern day charismatic christianity really christian/biblical? Speaking in tongues, ecstatic dance, chanting ect... It seems there is levels too it, there is some charismatics who literally are dancing in the aisles while the pastor is mumbling gibberish...there is other christians who are mostly normal but during prayer they still speak in tongues under their breath. These christians claim to be filled with the Holy Spirit, but supposedly the Bible says there must be an interpreter when someone speaks tongues, and some of these pastors are literally speaking gibberish no one is interpreting. You can't deny that many of these people seem filled with some sort of spirit, they are often very friendly. Charismatic christianity seems like very "feels" based which is probably its appeal, but conversely the Orthodox Church for example says that charismatics are filled with demonic spirits not from god, and that christianity is not about "meh feels" its about following the law in this life and suffering for christ to be rewarded in the next life.
