Depends. If it harms human ethics, or suggests harm to human ethics and morality and so on, I consider it evil.
Not everything hidden is evil. Privacy is a natural desire and leads to better security and sense of self-fulfillment. Taking away a person's right to privacy is considered an attack.
However, for example, the government should have no privacy because they are public servants. The whole idea is for them to be entirely transparent so the public is comforted that they are in good hands and their elected leaders (not rulers) are supporting them smartly. Giving the government privacy is akin to letting them get away with heinous, horrible acts. A government cannot be trusted if you can't tell what they're doing, or they straight up lie to you.

There's a lot you can debate on in regards to this, but I'll quit yammering and summarize by saying unless you're actively seeking to harm yourself or others, the occult isn't evil.

Its useless.
