I want it to be real. For over 20 years I have been studying the Bible, Bible commentaries, apologetics etcetera. I really want it all to be true because I want eternal life. But so far, still not convinced. I am getting desperate as death approaches.Help
Replying to my own thread here ..Unfortunately most people who respond to these threads are either mindless believers or mindless disbelievers. To this day, I have never encountered somebody approaching the topic rationally
>>42336883it sounds like you've made up your mind on this. i'm a believer and not mindless. i'd say the best evidence i've seen comes from jeremiah johnston https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyuDXp8BlqU but at this point not sure what will change your mind
>>42336829Have no fear for the end my friend, no one makes it out alive. If god turns out to be a raging asshole you have the right to be angry at him, if it's a nothingness void you don't have to pay taxes anymore, and can rest. If you become one with the universe and become some sort of spirit there's more for you too explore, if heaven is real you get to chill with Jesus. Even if you end up in "hell" you won't be alone in your suffering, you wouldn't be the only one that failed to live up too gods standards. What is to come for all of us is inevitable, so live the life you have while you still have it.
>>42336917Sounds depressing but thanks
>as a son of the devil I wanna worship and obeyTomorrow you'll be reminded
>>42336829It might sound retarded, but the best path to connect with God/Jesus is through your heart, not your mind. Pic extremely related.
>>42336984Seems like a Cope for those who are too lazy to think and study
>>42336984
Stay the course. The end is here.
>>42336829Some will always be learning, but never coming to knowledge of the truth, because they blinded and deafened by God. They are vessels of wrath whose hearts are being hardened, being prepared for eternal hellfire and pain.Make peace with your coming doom and accept your fate
OP here: my wife claims to be a hardcore believer (catholic at that). But each time she gets scared and believes to be in mortal danger, it seems to me that all that faith goes right out the window. I suppose it's human nature. I remember one time I was hoaxed by some "friends" who drove by (didnt know it was them) and pulled out a rifle of the window and I thought this was it (later they said it was for the lulz). I remember vividly what it felt like being certain that I was about to die. I just continued strolling, not even bothering to run or panick. I felt like OK this is it and that's that.

>>42337032>most serious topic everIs it though? I'll spoil it for you: Jesus is a mythological sun god. You get reincarnated. There.

>>42336829i never really got why people look into the bible alone for those kind of answers, you'd be much better off looking inwards, into yourself. And he said, "Whoever finds the interpretation of these sayings will not experiencedeath.""Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he willbecome troubled. When he becomes troubled, he will be astonished, and he will rule overthe All.""If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then thebirds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish willprecede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When youcome to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is youwho are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell inpoverty and it is you who are that poverty."
Hey OP.The studying is fine, but the real trick which changes my life was literally opening the door just a little for him. I was at my wits end with a hidden pain from what I now assume was a herniated disc for over a year and had no one to talk to. I lost my bestfriend to suicide in 2018 and turned my cheek to the faith and pursued endless pagan/occult/satanic shit to try and fill the void and my anger at God. But he’s always there, I know you feel it. I told him, “I’ll open the door just a crack man and if you could just please help me out in anyway possible I’de be greatful.” and it was as if someone knocked the door down! My lifes changed for the better me and my girlfriend are about to be engaged my faiths never been stronger and I admit my eyes have been open to the evils of the world and the VERY good parts to now that I know its all spiritual. But building faith is not a single journey alone, just open yourself up to Christ, continue studying if it helps, but I just want to say he loves you OP and you can let go of what happend. Godbless
>>42337111Not sure if this is a serious post. Why would you look for positive outcomes in satanic stuff. Doesn't make sense.Anyway how are you now sure it's real and not a product of your imagination?
Sometimes I go to catholic church with my wife. But it's almost unbearable to me since their doctrines are completely unbiblical, so this is hard for someone who studies the Bible.
>>42336829Have you read the apocrypha? Modern Christianity leaves out many books/texts that the earliest Christians viewed as scripture.I too want to believe, but can't without experiencing it myself. I'm most open to the notion that the events written about in Genisis (and the antediluvian world), the Books of Enoch, etc. capture kernels of truth - human language constrains what can be recorded. My current theory is that there are advanced beings that once intervened with humanity - raising us out of primitivism and teaching us how to develop technology. To what end is up for debate, but I believe that the End Times prophesies speak to a return of these beings to Earth. However, until the antichrist appears I'm not fully bought in.
>>42336988Reasonable but you are forgetting that the core essence of God is love, not intelligence. Expecting to find God through a secondary means which sidesteps his quintessential nature is a crippling handicap that explains your unsatisfying results.
>>42336829My grandma was telling me how God is good and how this world belongs to God and all that we have is thanks to God. But I'm also not convinced, you know? She is old, like, 80 years old. I don't know guys. She didn ot have access to the internet like we do. We have access to more knowledge. We know so much more than pur parents. Can they really be right and we wrong? I think they have faith that God is good, but becuse we know more then we asks more difficult questions than they ever did.
>>42336829From what I understand, upon death, you have a choice to proceed to the afterlife once you accept you are dead. Your first stop will either be a reflection of your beliefs while alive in this current incarnation, or a place of comfort you like going to from previous incarnations. If you believe Jesus Christ is your savior who died for your sins, and you want to meet him, then most likely you will have that experience. After the initial experience, you tend to have the other usual procedures afterwards: a life review where you can replay moments of your life and experience how everyone felt in the moment, a greeting with someone or someones familiar with you during your incarnation, and a meeting with a spiritual guide or spiritual council to plan next steps on your soul journey. You will then probably get to hang out and plan your next steps/studies with spiritual friends, and if you choose to reincarnate on Earth, plan your next life out with your spiritual classmates and spirit guides or spirit council. And don't worry, you don't have to reincarnate right away if you don't want to - the universe is built on the principle of free will for conscious beings. You can spend however long you like as a spirit, but the best opportunities for growth will always be incarnating into a physical life and choosing the hard decisions in that experience. This comes from NDE studies/survivors and spiritual persons in the modern day. We ultimately won't know the truth until we die, so I don't mean to mislead as this could be wrong. Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton is a good source, he was a PhD hypnotherapist who accidentally discovered people's memories as souls after death while trying to diagnose other issues.
>>42336829why even bother with the dumbest normie midwit religion that has doesn't even have any conception or language for the life of spirit?look into hindu philosophy, buddhism and daoism for some real answers.
