>>42339003Depends on what you want to see. A quality Ultra High Contrast (UHC) filter can help reduce the wavelengths from sodium street lamps and will make it easier to pick out emission nebulae. If you want to see galaxies however, those are the same broadband light sources as light pollution, so any filter is going to reduce what you can see. I also highly recommend purchasing a cheap clamp mount for your phone and trying some long exposures. You'll see a lot more with a camera than you ever would with your eyes.
