ITT we discuss people and animals/objects that are not what they appear to be. Only certain people can tell the difference, most normies don't take the time to look close enough and if they did, they would say "that looks weird" and keep going. its only through careful examination you can tell however, they don't just look fake, they look wrong.
>what a mimic is not
a mimic is not something in disguise, it is also not always a shape shifter. a mimic is something that does not belong in our world intelligently appearing to be something else. the only constant truth of mimics is you never know what they actually ARE.

idk maybe it was nothing but there was this guy at my work. pretty big dude, hard to ignore. anyway he worked front of the house so I didn't see him that much but I was aware of him. Then one day I just didn't see him so I thought he quit and forgot about then. then I was talking to the dishie and a few of the wait staff at a bar one day and they didn't remember him at all when I asked what his name was. I thought I was being punked but after talking about it with them I slowly came to realize I was probably the only one who saw him.

for some reason trees are a pretty common one. the part I've never understood is wether or not the WANT to be noticed or some people just notice them as a by product of whatever they do

I see similar stuff in picrel, but idk if it is the trees themselves, or something else as I see it everywhere else too.

Your obsession with “this guy at work” seems kinda gay, desu.

that had a sort of humanoid look to it. I feel like that's a requirement for a creepy tree

When I was a kid I saw a guy who was about seven feet tall with leathery gray skin walking around in San Francisco.

Joshua trees are the scariest trees because they look like a tarantula on its back.
