Welcome to Energy Cultivation General! here we discuss the theory/practice of energy cultivation where we help guide and help each other to higher planes of being

>What is this energy you speak of?
Qi, Tao, ki, aether, orgone, archeus, etheric energy, vital life-essence, prana, chi, mana, vital energy, Vril, life force, Nen and quintessence
(Or whatever you call it.)
Is the forgotten (not so forgotten) Energy which radiates within every life form. small or big, "weak and strong".

>Why cultivate it
Improved... Physical/joint Health, Mental health, Spiritual health, Mental clarity, perception, creativity, mood, companion, strength/mobility, etc

>Ok I'm sold, where do I start
(research extensively on each subject, (take a look at the /ECG/ library for other books and subjects) then practice the one you resonate with the most (doing multiple cultivation practices at the same time is not advised))

TLDR: Just practice/partake in: fasting, a raw diet, overt-generosity, no fap, compassionate action, breathwork, meditation and adventure

>Other community's
Dont send people to that communist shithole, everyone of value has long since left the place and you are left with the most milque toast of faggots making sure you respect the most retarded of all posts, because all posts are equal after all. Even the ones full of shit and disinformation.
>>
>>42345273
Part of the reason that place went to shit was because of mods taking disciplinary action against good posters rightly calling garbage posts out. Place was good 20 years ago but by the time 2016 came around, the commies that own & run the place decided to start banning anyone that didnt adhere to their political bullshit, on top of the aforementioned. Its amazing the place still even exists except for its gaggle of leftist sympathizers and coattails of former status.
I wonder if that's any worse than the breakoff original dao boards, that existed for a year just fine, the owner renewed for another year and then promptly closed the place down with 11 months left on the clock because the fox news viewpoint was not adhered to and this amounted to spreading Russian propaganda. Fucking irony of that!
>>
>>42345273
>Other community's:
And then there's the owner having become a literal tranny
Which was kind of ironic since some of us joked that he's that brainwashed, it was only a matter of time
Just jokes of course but then we had another good laugh when it came true

this is correct and another result of poor translations
the gongfu of inner vision is seeing what is there clearly, not imagining things and trying to make them real

Does it matter where you practice? Would doing it on the grass in nature be better than doing it in an apartment where there is no direct contact to the earth?
>>
>>42349810
the one thing missing from this image is that a key part of this is to learn how to stand straight up, but also have the psoas muscles relaxed completely while doing so
when the psoas is engaged, a slight bulge from the muscle is evident in the inguinal crease
when I was taught this, teacher had to put her fingers on this spot to make it more obvious and how to tell when its well relaxed
>>42352459
>>
>>42352510
doing practice>not doing practice
this is by far more important
if you have the options,
grass>apartment

the book I linked you lit has a chapter on the wuji stance (standing stance)

Depends on what you consider to be visualization

most energy cultivation practises already make you more susceptible to OBE's but i would recommend N.E.W

>learn how to stand straight up, but also have the psoas muscles relaxed completely while doing
how do i relax the psoas, anon? from my own research on the topic engaging the sacrum also seems to be key but i have no clue how i'm supposed to do it. does your teacher have any tips?>>42352946
>the book I linked
which link?
>>
>>42355014
>how do i relax the psoas,anon?
difficult to describe as the psoas is normally an integral part of standing
but let's look at the opposite: the wing chun stance, hips forward, toes inward
the psoas attaches to the anterior lumbar spine and the lesser trochanter at the top of the straight part of the femur
the feet should be just a bit wide of the shoulders, not much, toes forward
we learned to straighten the spine before doing this
imagine the vertebrae stacked like a bunch of flat rocks
stand close to a wall with the feet 2-3 inches out from the base of the wall, try to flatten your spine against it
the key to relaxing the psoas while standing lies in its lower connection to the femur, you need to relax it there
its difficult to feel the bulge in the inguinal crease yourself, as moving your arms puts you off center and engages the psoas
but when the psoas is engaged, the flexion can be felt there
there's a certain point of balance to achieve so as to be able to fully relax this crucial hip area
herein lies a stark difference between grounding and rooting
this stance is grounding, yin, relaxation
rooting is more like the wing chun stance where you have some grip on the ground, psoas engaged and ready
so its a lot of relax, relax, adjust, relax, adjust, relax, relax
but if one can achieve this stance then it brings standing practices to a new level and much longer durations can be achieved comfortably
>>
>>42355014
and, obviously, adjusting the knee angle and rotating the hips so as to straighten the junction between the sacrum and lumbar spine, leaving them perpendicular to the ground
this forms the basis for a 45 degree stance, and you cant relax the psoas fully except in that one stance, so this is forming the basis to build more power in the legs and hips
widen the stance just a bit, feet on the outsides of the shoulders
knees to a 45 degree
keep the spine straight
now relax and breathe
spending some time with this then forms the basis to go to the 90 degree stance, you pretty much have to have some arm support usually in the fashion of extending them forward
you need to build enough power in the hips so that the posture can remain correct, this is important for the 90 degree horse stance
dont let the knees go out past the toes (much)
keep the lumbosacral junction straight and perpendicular
this one much more quickly becomes a breathing practice than the others
achieving that first 5 continuous minutes in this stance feels like an achievement, but the old stuff says they'd do it for a couple hours
after doing 45 or 90 stances, follow up with the yin zhang zhuang described in the previous post
always follow up active things with passive, its as important of a part
>>
>>42355342
>imagine the vertebrae stacked like a bunch of flat rocks
my gripe with stacking is the spine is naturally curved. especially the lumbar and sacral portions which look like a hairpin turn.
>stand close to a wall with the feet 2-3 inches out from the base of the wall, try to flatten your spine against it
i just end up "tucking the tailbone" if that expression makes sense to you. is this correct?

while i have your attention, do you have any experience with a movement called the swai shou?
>>
>>42357127
>spine is naturally curved
sure, but as the body gets out of whack, so does the spine
spine straightening stuff is basic
but the real use of this for seated meditation is that it helps the guts move most freely
cultivate deeply enough and a particular chi arises in the body that sits you straight as a board on auto without any effort
>tucking the tailbone
yup
>swai shou
yeah, its what all the old chinese people do in the parks down in NYC
