Are not hallucinations and have a function and meaning. You can even conjure visions and with the right prompt do some interesting stuff when accompanied with the right train of thought. It seems like a dimensioni in and on itself, share your experience with these types of things.
they're interesting to me because I have aphantasia so hypnagogia is the only time I can 'see' things, they're almost always about leaves fluttering on a tree in a breeze or smoke rising and twisting around from the tip of a cigarette, and they're always so extremely detailed it's like seeing the thing IRL, and it's not even every night *sigh*that most people can do muh visualization this well wide awake is a bit depressing, because instead of using the gift to achieve astral projection and draw beautiful art and whatnot they only abuse it for shit like casting black magick on others, making horror movies and grotesque rule34 pics, the scumthe images aren't quite meaningful to me, they seem to just reflect the things I find comfy

>>42349854It feels like a head space, of course you have to feel as if you are falling asleep, but you abstain from the sleep part.To do It I close my eyes and quite frankly, try and see with my eyes closed, whatever image arises I look and try to figure It out.Very complex and interesting things May come forward to your attention.
>>42348876Not only that, I've done experiments where I try to polarize the field of light within my mind, and have been able to achieve the effect on multiple occasions. I also found that if you have a 4 quadrant mental focus, something like the two sides, and top and bottom or front and back, you can essentially make the darkness recede and perceive the spatial realm as clear.>>42348961The more beautiful you imagine it to be, the more the light in your head will try to following your intention.>that most people can do muh visualization this well wide awake is a bit depressingThat is completely innacurate, and you are overestimating what level of clarity people who can imagine things tend to see them at.I can imagine the apple just fine, but its as much a concept of an apple, as it is seeing it.
>>42348961You have been memed into thinking you cannot visualise. It's a significant mind hazzard. You need to rewind a bit and forget that idea.if you get extremely detailed images in your mind then you are already ahead of most people, particularly given that you seem to pay attention to them.remember, you have not slightest actual insight ito what ppl really see in their mind.
>>42351479>You have been memed into thinking you cannot visualisesorry but aphantasia isn't a meme, and I had it lonnnnnnnng before anyone knew what it ispeople like me are born with it, not memed into it>if you get extremely detailed images in your mindyeah...it's not really coming from *my* mind though, the images are generated by the subconscious mind, which, strictly speaking, is different than MY mindbeing able to see things at the edge of sleep doesn't mean I have a native ability to visualize, no more than a blind person suddenly having sight during a near death experience means he can actually see>you have not slightest actual insight into what people really see in their mind.I do though. Most people have a powerful ability to visualize. I could prove it but you already know it's true.Someone, somewhere today will post another long ass tutorial for some extremely complex and sustained visualization for meditation or whatever, and no one -- NO ONE -- will tell him it's too hard.
>>42351795The tutorial is to get a piece of paper and a pencil, and draw basic geometric shapes on the paper. Then close your eyes and try to remember what the shapes that you drew look like.Did you play with crayons and coloring books as a kid? All of this shit is a skill that you can train if you put even a small bit of effort into.
This happens to me fairly frequently, though since I occasionally see them with eyes wide open in the middle of the day I hesitate to call them hypnagogic. I do notice that when I am extremely tired or hungover they become much more vivid, sober or before sleep I get classic spiderwebs and vortexes or sometimes sillouettes of people dancing like in those old ipod ads. Tired or hungover though it's a whole different story. Then the take the shape of colorful mandalas or for reasons unknown to me, cartoon characters in that old timey "rubber hose" style. Unfortunately every time I try to develop one into a dream scene for lucid dreaming, they tend to disappear, so these days I just have fun watching the show until I fall asleep.
