I've only started my spiritual journey recently, and I've been thinking a lot about it over the past three weeks, I've been reading into gnosticism. I have one problem though that I can't seem to shake and I'd like help with it:Even though our bodies are just receptacles, I wouldn't have even gone on my spiritual journey if it wasn't for my brain, and its Reddit Rick and Morty electrical and chemical impulses. If I was born, being pulled from my mother with forceps, and my head came out squashed, and I lived as a drooling retard, I wouldn't have a chance of reaching my spiritual enlightenment. Similarly, I'm imagining, what would happen if I was smashed over the head with a crowbar an hour from now, and my brain stops working, and I'm kept alive as a retard for a year before I die? Would I lose way of my spiritual journey before I leave my body because of this? That's the one thing that I'd like your thoughts on. And why did the demiurge allow us complex thinking with these brains to begin with? Im having a hard time with the idea of separating my knowledge from my brain which is what is processing it.
>>42349104You are NOT your body. Your body (including your brain) is a tool at best, a prison garment at worst."You" are an informational entity that got stuck inside flesh and developed an ego to better operate it.>separating my knowledge from my brain which is what is processing itKnowledge aka information aka ideas cannot be truly erased, cos it's primal to matter. In this realm it can only be sealed/manipulated. Look into the "Akashic records" aka the "Noosphere" and you'll understand.
>>42349104honestly I am not sure anon, Is something that I also find interesting.I think the closets that I gotten is the idea , that being hit with a crowbar and getting brain damange is still in a way a form of spiritual comunication , that you could avoid of enlightened.but then why hasn't anyone been able to doge bullets by just knowing very well?
>>42349104Gnosticism is being shilled here as part of a demoralization psyop, along with simulation theory, solipsism, and similar narratives.
>>42349319It's easy for you to make a statement like that without putting your own beliefs in the firing line. Let me guess, you worship a deity that promotes suffering and demands worship under threat of torture? I don't want to just strawman you, but atleast make it a conversation rather than a hollow statement.
>>42349104Understanding that the mind is not the soul is way harder than people would lead you to believe and it requires A LOT of introspection. In fact, I'd say few really reach this concept fully, many simply grind their whole lives until at death, when the mind is no more, the soul finally gets it. All of our words, images, logical connections are just tools of the mind, they have no connection to our souls. Text will explain to you the sayings of the sages, but you will internalize them only if your soul forces your mind, through its means, to absorb them. As Laozi said, the Tao that can be said is not the eternal Tao and the concept that can be conceptualized is not the eternal concept. The soul cannot be seen or rationalized from outside, the soul is us and everything else exists in its properties solely due to their submission to our soul. So even a retard can reach enlightenment, he won't have his mind or body to help him, but as long as the soul breathed he will have hope

But for You, no one is to be found who can destroy this doubt.

Thank you for your explanations, I understand that the physical brain and soul are separate, I was just hung up on how gnosticism, and other religions require a realization, which seems to require the mechanical aspects of the body, like the brain to function; allowing the mystic to choose to start his spiritual journey etc.A question for gnostics which might not have a canonical explanation:I'm under the impression that we are imprisoned here, kept ignorant, and our negative feelings are harvested from us. I know from experience that we can feel far greater pain than we can pleasure. But why were we designed with the brains we have? Do our physical brains even correspond with our own complex thoughts? I feel like we could've been more optimized for Yaldaboath's intentions, both brain and body. But I am still ignorant. Thank you for teaching me.
>>42349104the demiurge doesn't exist and gnosticism is fake, it's being shilled here to trick you into a "spiritual" path that leads nowherewith that being said, you are approaching the mystical through anthropocentrism. this is fine as you are just starting out, but enlightenment is seeing that individuality is just an accessory of the body and it must be superseded. abandon anthropocentrism, seek truth beyond senses. look into apophatism
>>42352443What do you practice, and what influenced you to?
>>42352491no religion/tradition is 100% correct because language can only approximate what's real through abstractions, but they never truly express it. basically you need to let go of your conception of everything to directly experience what is truly reallook into apophatism, seek what the mystics have to say about the divine, they are the most right (but still fall short) but in the end, you have to do the walking and discover it yourselfseek what's real with sincerity
