Brain. Most important organ of creatures besides heart. Does it contain a soul or conscience? What happens to it after death? It obviously rots, but there must be something else going on.

One of my personal belifs is that the brain is more like a "radio" for the soul, which is translated in will, then in thoughts and emotions and finally in actions.

As such without the brain the connection between soul and being is cut appart, which is why people... Well... Basically lose themselfs when they dont downright die when their brain is severaly damaged

We are composed of body, soul and spirit. Our soul, that is, the actual conscious you, communicates with the physical world through the body (which includes the brain as a decoder of information), and with God through the Spirit.
