If I sit still, eyes shut, and breathe for long enough, will I eventually progress iyp or do I need instruction from a master?
>>42352107you must relax that is certain, and this should bring out some stress, now, you artfully remove the stress which has been brought before your awareness>do I need instruction from a masteryou are the master
>>42352107It depends on your innate skill level, some are more skilled than others as is true for any talent>follow your instinctsIf your instincts are not telling you exactly what to do, and you are not receiving results that confirm this, you may need further guidance
>>42352107Progress at what?
>>42353188He will progress into a nap.
Thanks>>42353056>>42353087Okay, I will bear that in mind. I was thinking of giving it 6 months. Probably will try that if no one suggests differently>>42353188Ideally you would be telling me that. I have to assume there's some benefit if it's part of the foundations. Does your practice start with something other than breathwork?
>>42353476>Ideally you would be telling me that.Well then clearly yes you need instruction from a master.
>>423538641. Touche. 2. Tell me your practice, and tell me would I succeed by sitting still and breathing or not, or if it's largely more complicated than that
>>42354022Bhakti yoga, and it depends so much more on your awareness than action. WHY are sitting still and breathing?
>>42354022If you just sit you can make progress, but what I did was study sutras for 2 years to have a foundation for my zazen. But if you want to be a wizard you need a conceptual framework, which just enters you into samsara because concepts are rooted in ignorance. Ignorance is rooted in Void, and Void has no root. You can study a conceptual framework and become a wizard but you'll just change things that don't matter
>>42354158>You can study a conceptual framework and become a wizard but you'll just change things that don't matterNot op here.As a hypothetical you are given a child and instructed to turn him into a wizard as fast as possible. It is for a good cause and you agree. What conceptual framework would you suggest? What sort of foundational practices?
>>42354138>>42354158Thanks anons.>>42354138>WHY are sitting still and breathing? There is a lot of paths offered here which I am curious about but have no way to know how real they or how useful they will be in practice. The thought is that if I verified a first step common to many of them I could delay choosing and put myself in a better position to potentially explore several of them. I threw breathwork as a wild guess because I have seen that suggested several times in occult and spiritual contexts but I am more or less clueless.
>>42355290Bhakta here, it doesnt really work that way in my tradition, as what matters is the devotional awareness as you do things. Action isnt important except as expression of awareness, so it would be better to do "normie stuff" in proper awareness than to do sit quiet and breathe in improper awareness. However, such being in the moment practices are known in my tradition as being an excellent developer of subreligious traits and principles like compassion, temperance, perseverance, etc.
>>42352107>If I sit still, eyes shut, and breathe for long enough, will I eventually progress iyp or do I need instruction from a master?without a couple key areas of focus, one might waste a lot of timethe reason one works on the breath is that it imbues quiescence at the neurological levelthis is why there's "so much" work to be done thereyou are conditioning yourselfwith quiescence at the neurological level fortified with solid habit energy, sitting becomes a game of keeping the awarenessnot focused on something, not focused on nothingjust there, presentthis has crucial implications for later on once stillness dominatesout of long chains of uninterrupted awareness, arises the spiritual lighthow that manifests will differ depending on where your awareness isgut will be different than midbrainbut as the midbrain is where the seat of awareness is, once you progress enough to make light/heat in the gut, then you are more ready for work in the upper center

Is any of this actually legit
>>42358583>to see>to bleed>cannot be taught
>>42352107As someone who's progressed to the point where I can synchronize full vibration of my body while meditating, I can give you a hint, but it's going to sound weird. Trust me, when I realized it at first I thought it was silly. In any case, the whole point is you have to focus on and force yourself to imagine the feelings until you end up being able to pinpoint control your muscles and whole body, even in parts you thought you would never control. On some levels it's "fake it till you make it" but also not really. It's just that you're so heavily focusing on flexing your mental muscles in such a specific arbitrary way that triggers your imagination, that your body begins to actually experience it. Then you can keep training that over and over until you achieve full vibrational control. Now, honestly I'm still trying to pinpoint exactly where to take this from here as there's several paths. But ultimately, you can also game the system by also taking time to focus on just flexing your mind itself just to flex it. Then it becomes second nature just like any other muscle. This in-turn boosts the control over the rest of the body. Achieve super-levels of control and I guess see where it takes you. You'll at least notice a more fluid and effortless physical motion through life as you optimize every single thing you do far more effortlessly as you now are sensitive to the vibrational resistance of everything around you. The sensitivity takes a toll on your energy though, so keep well fed and watered etc. or you'll end up fatigued easily. Finally attempt to figure out a way to focus on animating parts of your body without activating your standard motor function. Keep it dead weight. When you can lift that, then you've ascended.
>>42354360It's really not for a good cause so I'm not going to be teaching this
>>42358620>just like any other muscle.there are no muscles for your mindapproaching the upper dantien in the same manner that works for the lower dantien is a recipe for headaches and other assorted problemsyour post sounds like a complete larp that is eyeroll worthy to real practitionersreader beware of garbage such as the post I'm replying to
>>42358697>force yourself to imagine the feelings until you end up being able to pinpoint control your musclesThis is the manner to approach lower dantien?
>>42361239nope its just that there's muscles that wind up being a part of lower dt work
>>42361239>force yourself to imagine the feelingsthis part is wrongvisualizing is often misinterpreted to mean you can just imagine shit and then make it realthe entire reason stillness is taught first is because this lowers the noise floor and helps existing signals emerge and stick out and become identifiable>the gongfu of inner vision is much more descriptive
