He was interested in sci-fi stuff (he talked about alien abductions before with his wife) and this alien he describes seems to be similar to some alien that showed up in a tv show around that time. The symptoms he describes also seem to be similar to a stroke.Aliens feeding themselves with pills was also an extremely popular science fiction trope back then.
