Happened to me. I wasn't suicidal, but I *was* self-destructive. One day I was temporarily blinded and paralyzed. Fell to the floor. Could only perceive my mind, or at least that's how it felt. Then a booming voice scolded me like an angry parent. The words weren't English but somehow I knew what was said. After that day I changed a lot. I won't get into specifics, because it'll lead to religious shit-flinging. But yeah, clearly somebody plays favorites... in the sense of intervening.

Let me explain, you are god, we are all god. What is really happening is the person is talking to himself on the verge of death, specially if they are unsure about suicide.
