all there is to this world is decay and suffering. what is the lesson here? why do we live among sleep-walking shells who mostly just suck the life out of us? why do we get attached to these creatures?I can't really bear it anymore, I hate the asymmetry, caring too much about others and the world while most don't care about anything unless it directly affects them. their apathy is driving me into hopelessness. the aware ones are scattered and meant to be apart from one another, it's clear at this point, why is it like this? what's lying beyond this madness?
>>42374016The key is to let go of the pain and anxiety you feel when someone doesn't reciprocate your kindness/love. Remember that the best way to help these people is to be a good example for them. Christ is with you when you embody his teachings, even when you're trying and failing.

I'm trying, and can usually feel quite content with it, I don't hold grudges or anything. but really a lot of the pain comes from people clearly holding me to much higher standards than they have for themselves. I feel like I'm not really seen as a fellow human, it's really painful and alienating, others get a lot more grace. I don't mind not being met with love or kindness, but some component of natural human kinship is lacking in all relationships. empathy and compassion are unusually scarce and it's painful to bear.
