Playing games "let's off Steam" and is a way to release pent up psychic energy without disturbing the material world.
This behavior can be steered for helpful or predatory reasons.
Steam is the most customer friendly gaming platform.
It's the lesser evil in that they really just want your business, and care more about that than steering your purchases a particular way.

Objectively and factually incorect

This isn't /v/ so I won't quibble with Steam's business practices for long, but for the record, no one and I mean no one else offer full no questions asked refunds after playing a game. Nor does anyone offer as robust a platform to both rate and repair their purchases honestly.

My point was that Valve's naming checks out due to the industry it is in, and their practices are 'friendly' by industry comparison.
>>
>>42383239
>no one else offer full no questions asked refunds after playing a game.
So what you're saying is Valve lets people easily abuse a refund policy.
>Nor does anyone offer as robust a platform to both rate
Once again you mean to say Valve is the only platform that easily lets its users exploit and review bomb or positively bot games (mixtape)
>repair their purchases honestly.
There is no such thing as repairing a purchase. Your purchase is not being repaired after you buy a pair of headphones.
>My point was that Valve's naming checks out due to the industry it is in, and their practices are 'friendly' by industry comparison.
No they're sloppy and at best "Libertarian" they're not serious by any means and would exploit their users if given the opportunity considering they have a major pie of the market and a stronger vendor lock in than PlayStation or Nintendo.

You pushed back against Steam being a customer friendly platform and then went on to list a bunch things you wished customers didn't have.

>>42383318
>So what you're saying is Valve lets people easily abuse a refund policy.
Abuse is punished. You get two hours of playtime to see if you like a game or that it works. If you beat the game and unlocked all the achievements, they'll get wise and have the right to deny you. No abuse, just customer protection form slop and false adverts.

>Once again you mean to say Valve is the only platform that easily lets its users exploit and review bomb or positively bot games
Steam took measure to differentiate by adding "recent reviews". These show that "review bombs" not only happen, but why. Other platforms would just as soon not let anyone talk at all because some dev might get butt blasted.

>There is no such thing as repairing a purchase.
Not true at all. The forums exist to make games (and mods) work properly. There genuinely not a better place to find a fix for something.

>>42383318
>No they're sloppy and at best "Libertarian" they're not serious by any means and would exploit their users if given the opportunity

They love to hide everything in plain sight. The game is literally called "Half Life" i.e half of life, i.e, you are playing the other half of life (spiritual symbolism). Also "valve" i.e a mechanism to activate or open something, with obviously the symbolism of either the eye and/or the head/brain.
Gordon Freeman is obviously some Lucifer symbolism since his last name is a nod to Free Man i.e Free Mankind - promotheus/lucifer type stuff

They are aware of the symbolism, don't doubt about it.

HL: Alyx also striked me as incredibly odd. IIRC at the start of the game you are semi-trapped in an apartment building due to a headcrab/zombie outbreak. Obviously the game was released during he height of covid.
Valve's new Counter Strike games (Global Offensive) also have weird 'trendy' shit going on with them since IIRC it is about a sudden explosion in 'terrorism' due to changes in society. Very relevant to the current day

I also think the "creepy feeling" of source games isn't accidental, the photo realism textures give it an uncanny valley and there might be some "ghosts in the machine" per se, the story behind the half life 2 charred ragdoll is also weird...
>>
>>42383962
CS:GO itself gives really weird vibes. Like you said some years ago I did notice the 'middle eastern' counter terrorists are obviously IDF. I don't know the lore much but all of the terrorist orgs in the game are weirdly 'normal' - for example the middle eastern ones, one of the main lines they say at the start is "so we can be free", and another one is like "remove them from our land". There is also the Western/European terrorist org which similarly has very realistic lines and once again IIRC the lore (via the DLC season operations) paints them as normal people pushed to a breaking point via government overreach. Very weird vibes

On a dial-up over 300ms ping, fuck yeah. Nothing compared to the highs (and lows) and the adrenaline rush as a kid, especially as a europoor. Dopamine receptors fried for good, though. I do not know any other game from the early 2000's that would even compare. Quake3 was not as punishing or intense, since you just respawned after a fuck up. The stakes were super-low.

There are basically three reasons why steam would want to use saturn magick:
1. Saturn signifies withstanding the unbearable and
2. Saturn rules over hidden / covert enemies: They want to be safeguarded from the people that want a share of their market share.
3. Saturn rules over efficiency and simplicity: They want to cut down on losses.

Saturn is also about Structure, Stability and Wealth.

Binah that stabilizes Kether and Chochma.

The Skeletal System that structures the body.

Wealth because in Roman times he was an Agricultural Deity and Wheat = Wealth back then.

Many businesses and even dollar bills honor him, the Novus Ordo Seclorum of the dollar bill comes from one of Virgil's Eclogues about Saturn.

Redeunt Saturnia Regna.
