Redpill me on Dream Interpretation please.
What is it really?
And how to properly do it?

Start by writing down every dream you have, you'll get better at remembering them the more you do it. Over time, common themes and symbols will pop up: these can be certain places you go to, people, actions etc.
This is where you start meditating on the question of what they mean, placing yourself mentally into the dream scene and playing out the story. Answers will pop up if you're consistent.
The reason Freud's dream interpretation was mostly bs is because he'd assign meaning to patients' dreams that would confirm his theories, when in reality the real significance of subconscious material can only be discovered by the mind that generated it.

Thank you.
I had this dream today that prompted my interest it went like this:

am in my family home but qe are clearly more wealthy than we re irl because a young woman from my office irl is employed there and just as she silently does menial tasks around my office she does that now around our yard/farm.
I visit my family again after some times in this dream i am not often home, like in real life.
So i am home again ome night after some time.
Then a guy shows up, he says hes an old friend but he isnt very friendly i tell him to get away but as i try to touch him he says "i wouldnt do that because of the shit" as he is now covered in it, (however it is sort of invisible) then i am told the story that he crawls around in the sewers. He tells me
"The shit corridor the shit pipe and the shit gate are all full of shit" i try to shoo him politely now by cutting the conversation short and he finally leaves my house.
Later i go outside again, it is already dark i hear a bonk, i go look and the guy is holding the silent redhead forcibly in a "compromising" position and because she fought back he hit her head against some boards in a pile of wood there.
I take some wood and hit him over the head and he leaves. Another day he comes back again, i threaten him with a fencepost that i use as a spear, he is cocky and arrogant and i dont hold back and fight him britally using the fencepost.
I stab him with it and hit him over the head with it until he dies.

the dreams and symbols are subjective

a cow might be just a farm animal to you but an indian who dreamed it might see that differently

Sounds like a normal dream desu.
Note that quite often dream characters represent certain aspects of yourself, perhaps there is a part of you that you see as a man covered in shit who you wish to kill/get rid of

Yes that could be it.
I think the guy represents my struggle with alcohol. Being an "old friend" but treating me poorly and being covered in invisible shit and me feeling good and peaceful when i finally killed him for good. Also him looking like one of those guys i watched and told myself "never become like this"

As a former alcoholic myself, this sounds pretty accurate
Stay away from that shit anon

I'm young and wasn't addicted for that long (about 4 years), but it was enough to feel the damage it was doing to my life and health. Unironically what helped me a lot was Sam Hyde's advice, he said basically that it's just a choice between growing up and stopping or becoming a full on drunk actively ruining your life. Didn't want to go down that path.

Alright, ill try that. Thank you very much.
