The true self resides in the gap between the thoughts.Sit down, close your eyes and simply notice your thoughts. When one thought ends, and right before another one begins, you will notice a tiny gapThat is where awareness, or again, the true self lives. That gap is where true peace and joy resides. When you first start this practice, thoughts will be going and going, one after the otherSo the gap will be small and quickBut once you keep doing this meditation practice, the gaps will become longer and longerEventually, the thoughts will stop completely and the gap will be your default stateBut at that point, it wont be a gap anymore, it will simply be silence. You will live in true inner peace, and the inner peace is truly intoxicating.
Can confirm, I've been a Zen no Mind practitioner for a number of years now.Doubt every thought, every thought is a lie.Watch them play out like a movie just like op said and you will see you are the judge, not the thinker. The brain is just making random noise, you have the final say on what stays and what goes. You don't have to think at all 99% of the time, the only time I do is if I'm brainstorming.

>>42417659No it's just something I picked up from a podcaster. He called it something else but it's a useful trick, especially if you have anxiety or racing thoughts. You just kinda....decide not to.It's hard to describe because I don't know exactly how everyone thinks but if I have the start of a though I just habitually cut it off.So there's really nothing going on upstairs, just flow state goodness.
>>42417659>only thinks in terms of mammon
>>42417542>be depressed>poverty of thought>meditate>no thoughts>only gap>no peace, no joyyou're a retard, OP

>>42417542About three months ago, I tried a little meditation experiment in which I cleared my mind to "make space" for the archetype of The Sage to "speak", if it so wanted to. I did observe some interesting mental visualizations that did not feel generated by my own ideas. Overall, in the moment, it merely felt like a calming meditation. 2-3 days later, I came up with a scientific hypothesis and decided, why not try to computationally test it out? I did so, got some interesting results that supports my hypothesis, and uploaded it all as a research paper preprint. I included the code I used to test my hypothesis, so people could check my work. It was my first research paper ever written and it's received over a thousand views and downloads in just 3 months, which is way above the usual rate of preprint views and downloads. So my work hasn't been validated yet, but it's certainly capturing unusual interest. Who knows if that little meditation experiment had anything to do with it? The timing is odd.
>>42417830Im either low IQ or this post is incomprehensible
>>42417761No, this guy is actually telling solid info. Its called non-object meditation. An anon in the loa threads said its the best training method for manifesting (or just to strengen self concept/self reflection) and listed a number of benefits. If you are in a bad space, - its your internal defragment tool.>>42417865Its simple. Meditate and notice the space between your thoughts. Stretch out that space by concentrating on the "nothingness" of it.
>>42417876>non-object meditationi'm a coder so i prefer object oriented meditation
