have you ever had an encounter with a fairy?
how do they look like? do they speak?
how to find them?
would it be possible for me to find them if i'm in fucking brazil?

Certain people are protected from fae. There is a rare type of human that the fae avoid due to a higher power's protection. If you are one of the protected people you will not be able to find fairies no matter how hard you try.

fairies have bug-wings, and sightings of them are said that they "look manufactured on the spot for the express purpose of being seen". typically manifested physical beings have wear and tear, but otherworldly beings are said to look manufactured. why so???
fairies have bug wings. fairies are insectoid.
do we know anyone that has a little fairy companion???

>>
>>42988579
So since it isn't a fairy what could I do to deter them in case it is?
>>
>>42988591
>>42988591

Yeah, especially as the fluffy antennae make up the round "head".

They are harmless and are useful in pollinating flowers. Light attracts them and they often come inside from an open window.

They can be quite big though, and make a low buzz when flying. That creeps some people out, especially as they look like daddy longlegs with wings.

So just keep your windows shut at night, or don't keep lights on at the same room as an open window.
>>
>>42988595

I think bug nets will work for fairies too, maybe even better if they are made of metal. Also just controlling the nature nearby, cutting grass, landscaping etc. Bibles and crosses work too, leave some on the porch or to other areas you need to keep clear of fairies. Other symbols of organized religion may work too, I think its more of a order vs. chaos sort of thing...
>>
>>42988595
If you’ve got a fairy infestation you need to get some iron. Wrought iron works best according to the folklore, but it’s possible any refined iron or iron alloy would work. Iron fences, horseshoes nailed above doors, blades, nails, etc. The folklore suggests that worked iron is destructive to fairies because fairies are creatures of nature and pure iron is unnatural. I’m of the opinion that ferromagnetism would likely be involved should it have any effect on the fae but that’s just speculation on the nature of fae.
>>

On that note, how can one upkeep their yard without warding off or offending fairies? My yard is pretty overgrown at the moment, but I really would like to get it under control, but I don’t want to put off the little guys if I can help it.
>>
>>42989495
I have no idea why one would want a fae infestation so close to home. It’s essentially ceding your land to them and they will take advantage of that fact. You should probably play by traveler’s rules. Identify likely fae claimed landmarks, announce intention prior to intrusion, provide offerings, and don’t disturb anything potentially fae related while performing maintenance. Alternatively, and if you are less ethical, you can try to trick the fae; hire someone else to do it and pretend like you weren’t involved.

Probably by having a diverse collection of plants(if you do gardening), and not making the lawn look like a golf course. I think clovers could be used as land coverage/lawn instead of grass. Local plant species would work better I imagine, especially those that attract insects and other animals. Also leave the property borders overgrown/wild. If you have trees on the lawn, that would probably "rewild" it a bit. Maybe keeping all your equipment/human stuff in a shed and not visible outside. I dunno if feeding birds is beneficial, could try leaving some grain on a stone or a tree stump. I my country gnomes etc. are especially fond of oat porridge and butter.

So basically keep your garden as natural as possible considering what other use you have for it.

You can't "see" them in a physical way simply because they are part of another realm.
Human representations of fairies, gnomes and elves are simply an interpretation of the feeling of being in their presence.
Knowing that, I "saw" some of them in Scotland at the base of a tree this summer. But they are hard to find now even in most forests because of human presence and noise
>>
>>42982045
>have you encountered fae
Yes. At least once in a very loud and proud way.
>what did they look like
They responded to me throat singing at night near deep and cold running water in the mountains. I was hanging along a river In a forest I used to camp. I was sober besides having eaten one small mushroom, and was feeling it enough to have some weird impulses and thoughts, but not enough to have any trippy visuals.
I was alone, away from camp, and it was pitch black aside from the moon.
They appeared across the river: blue green, bright glowing orbs about the size of a basketball. Their light had an unearthly luminance, it sort of illuminated without radiating like normal light.
Their were silhouette of what appeared to be little bodies in positions that reminded me of yoga poses inside of them.
When I ignored them, they just kind of went away.
But a friend came down to check on me and without me saying a word, he saw them himself and started freaking out.

That morning as the sun rose, while everyone else was sleeping, they came back and didn't show themselves, but projected their voices into my mind. They told me some interesting secrets about natural law by imploding me to lie on my back looking up a tree from its base, an old Douglas fir. They pointed out to me all the impoverished, dry, unnourished and dead branches and how many ones eyes crossed before seeing the majestic canopy of branches reaching to the sky, standing on the corpses of branches who sacrificed everything to lift them higher.
Natural law: give what you can afford, take what you can seize: live.

It was powerful. They left once I "got it." They appreciated my courage at the river, I sensed. They were impressed i didn't fall into the river and chase them like my stupid friend nearly did.

He doesn't like to talk about it. It freaks him out to this day and he can not remember it right.

I believe you, can confirm from my own experiences that they possess telepathy and will communicate inside your head. Your friend sounds traumatized by it, also something I'm quite familiar with, many are traumatized by my experiences with the Fae.
Wish I could share my story but it is too soon and it will shock the world

I've never seen one but they seem attracted to me. They leave out little trinkets for me and help life work out in my favor. I want to know the proper way to pay them back, or if I should continue keeping on with life as apparently they just seem to like me the way I am. It would be nice to see one.
>>

Fairies are a type of fae if anything. There are large overlaps between fae and ghosts, for instance boggarts being indistinguishable from poltergeists. Boggarts are even interchangeably called spirits or fae creatures. This is largely because descriptions of fae are classified by their actions and behaviors rather than their appearances, more often than not. One might question whether there is any distinction between the variously described varieties of fae and spirits at all. I find no reason to trust that descriptions of changes in sizes, shapes, or features even correlate to something inherent to a described fae entity, but I suppose that is impossible to know.
>>

What are fae?

I haven't seen a lil pixie, but I've seen a willow wisp in the woods. I DID NOT FOLLOW IT! I have been told not to, and I didn't. It was a light blue, it was still bright out and it was about 2 feet off the ground. bobbing up and down, and I circled it a bit and saw it was legitimately floating. I did not pursue it any further.

From what I've heard, just like all fae, you don't mess with them. The treasure is probably cursed, or at the bottom of the lake nearby where I'd be dragged under and drowned.
I frequent the area and haven't seen them since so most likely was a one time thing, or some other unlucky fool followed them.
Id say i made the right move.

I got to know gods and connections with us through black holes outside our universe. I travelled to potent worlds where the connections lay and I came through to one where it was like a children's fantasy novel.

There was a giant that lived in home and there were nearby fairies in the garden patch. They listened to the giant and even made woman have a relationship with him by making a selection and expanding the size of one. A lot of our fairy tales have truth in them.

Fae folk, good folk, etc. are the names given to phenomenon more often than corporeal beings. Fae may display a corporeal presence, a body of sorts, but many fae were rather described by their behaviors rather than their much rarer physical appearances. Brownies were fae that lived in houses and kept them clean. As were pertunes. As were hobgoblins. There are many more such names for household fae. Boggarts were thought to be offended household fae, like hobgoblins who were seen or who had been neglected when it comes to offerings. To expand, dryads were fae that lived in trees or lakes. Modern people would classify such behaviors as a poltergeist. The old paradigm of folk vs. the new of ghosts is a matter of modern technology. Spirits and fae were often used interchangeably. Many fae have been classified by appearances over the years. Kobolds/hausgeist, gnomes, and powries all share similarities. Notably red caps, short statures, and ugly appearances. Is that truly their physical form, or simply one of many that a fae could adopt? Are these all names for the same creatures, or simply for the phenomenons attributed to them? Defining a fae as anything more than a supernatural entity with the appearance of will would be rather tricky.

My sister did. It kept her awake for hours while she was trying to sleep. It flew in and out through her bedroom walls to pester her like a little brat.
Basically its body was grey, definitely insect-like, but with some humanoid features like arms (I think). It had intricate, opalescent wings. She struggled to make sense of the face, which was both human-like but insecty at the same time, with big black eyes. I don't remember how big she said it was, but bigger than an actual insect, that's for certain.
Idk how to find one. Like with anything paranormal you'll have to tune yourself to their frequencies somehow. I think her being obsessed with growing things in her garden, and being out in the local forest a lot helped bring the encounter on.

Bolete shrooms. The chinese literally call them "little people mushrooms". If you want to see fairies, all it takes is to nudge a few neurons.
>>
>>43004307
Are they drug entities?
>>
>>42992318
Sure. And people can make of it what they will.
For the record, I was 40, VERY experienced with shrooms, not on anything else, and I'd literally eaten a single cap and stem. Weird thoughts, but not seeing any melty stuff.
Though I never hallucinate on psychedelics anyway.
My friend was drunk. He's a literal drunk. He wasn't on psychedelics and I didn't prime him with what I saw.
Camp is dispersed and 5 miles from any other camps, about 2 from a road.
I witnessed something similar about 6 months earlier literally sober, walking home at night. I can tell you it was real because its light illuminated the landscape and it followed me at 4 o clock for a bit.

I'm not a person prone to paranormal encounters, nor am I into drugs. I'm a STEM educated professional dealing with lots of elder deaths at the moment. I drive a car worth about 20k used. I run 5 CNC machines at once for work and program all the CAD and CAM paths for the machines. It makes me a little more reliable as a witness than your average DUDEWEED! bro.

It was just a small dose of mushrooms, not really a party time dose, and I was grieving the death of multiple loved ones at the time.
There are a lot of variables. Cold, large faces of granite and basalt. Swift running water, very deep. Moonless night. I was away from the fire with no lights and throat singinging at night--which is a notorious no no.

Is there context for this?
I don't necessarily want malevolent trickster spirits and entities harassing me but the lack of paranormal and supernatural phenomena I've encountered (i.e. none) makes me wonder if I'm some self aware NPC or something.
If I can find out I don't have a divine spark or soul, at least it gives me confirmation that if I want to kill myself there should likely be no repercussions if I do so if I am just a material being confusing itself for spirit.

>have you ever had an encounter with a fairy?
Yes.
I was walking through the wilderness of Wales trying to find a barrow site I had heard about. I went over a hill and suddenly a thick wave of fog descended over me. It was so thick that you could literally see it like cream moving through the air. My visibility went down to about 10 feet and I couldn't see where i needed to go. I then came upon multiple forks in the road, one after another. I kept walking straight hoping to find my destination. I kept walking in this way for a long time and eventually I came upon the large stone at the center of the site. I put my hand onto the stone. The instant I did, the fog dissapated without a trace left in sight. I walked back, and those forks in the road were no longer there. It was really fucking weird. The only actual explanation that I can conjure for the situation was that there was a fairy that was trying to play tricks on me. I didn't see it but the experience was pretty overwhelming. I took a video of the fog and the strange characteristics of it showed up surprisingly well on camera

You should stop asking about faeries. They are the very soul of "fuck around and find out". Also, the pretty ones are the most likely to try and deceive you. Do some research and leave some gifts for the house spirits and the ones that visit your garden (you do have a garden, right?). Afterwards, pay them no mind. Trust me on this. I went out looking for a fairy gf and was shaken down, scared shitless, and only let go as a mercy and probably to spread the warning. Do not fuck with the fae.

Also, they don't look like little tinkerbells as pop culture depicts them. Just saying.

I have a question if you see a rainbow and make a wish and it comes true, that's the Fae right?

Yes, why not...

It sounds ominous when you say it.

People have no idea how powerful they are, I'm sure some of the gods of old are basically just Fae
>>
I have recently had one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I normally only come here to laugh at schizos and for reading fun LARPs. I want to preface this by making it clear I have never believed in the paranormal (aside from extraterrestrial life but I also don't believe they'd ever find their way here). So, I am not looking for the paranormal in every corner is what I'm saying. Anyway, I was doing poetry with a couple of friends on Facebook and suddenly the messages I sent were insults about myself. Then, I blinked, and the insults were gone and my normal poetry attempts were back. This happened over several messages, it wasn't all in one go or even all in message sequence. I am the mythology/theology guy on my trivia team so I have been studying fairies of late in order to shore up a gap. I have either developed schizophrenia in my later years, or studying fairy folklore has caused a fairy to bully me. Frankly I'd prefer the former. I have never experienced anything so jarring in my life. Perhaps I'm just Jekyll and Hyding myself. That is more likely. But I had to post this because I'm very disturbed.

Fairy's got you
>>

Wear some of your clothing inside out or incorrectly. Wear a shirt as some pants maybe. They might mistake you for someone or something else. If not, hang some iron horseshoes around your house’s entryways and carry iron tools with you.
>>
why are fairies so afraid of iron? also if you had to protect yourself against them would a simple iron ring be enough?
>>
Is "fairy" all-encompassing, or are there actually different kinds like they say? Things like gnomes, brownies, etc? What separates them, and how can you tell?
>>
>>43040996
Fae are often seen as nature spirits. They exist in nature and as nature. Iron is seen as unnatural in nature. It isn’t really. Meteoric iron exists in highly crystalline forms, but most iron oxidizes and lacks the metallurgical work put into it. Most fae folklore suggests that iron represents man’s work to turn something natural unnatural. The antithesis of the fae. Symbols like that can be powerful on their own. Others suggest that ferromagnetism or electromagnetic fields come into play with the fae. Both are probably correct to some degree.
>>43041232
To add to my above point, electromagnetism probably affects some fae. For example the boggart. Boggarts are essentially poltergeists, possibly just different names/paradigms for the same phenomenon. What’s interesting is that in some folklore, boggarts are displeased house goblins, hobgoblins, brownies, etc. It’s uncertain if there are any distinctions between fae creatures at all. Most are classified by their behaviors or their appearances, but as with the boggart the appearances and behaviors can change. Rather, the name changes when the behaviors or appearance change. All that said, fairies fall under the larger umbrella of fae if you want to use that paradigm. What’s interesting about fairies is that they didn’t use to refer to small winged creatures. Old descriptions of fairies are more akin to human-sized, strikingly handsome, humans. You can think of modern depictions of elves, though the ears weren’t necessarily pointy.

Which god can you say, without any doubt, is part of the fae?

All deities are fae.

The bodies were inside. I lost my pc in a fire last month and so can't draw anything to show you, but I'll post something thst looks similar i found online. They had a glow that reminded me.od the color of ozone or elemental oxygen. Like a really otherworldly pure blue. Hawaiian ocean blue.

Orb
>>
>>43044294
The picture yes.
What i saw wasn't actually quite an orb. But the color was very similar to what I posted: like excited oxygen.
Its glow was not radiant the way usual light sources are. It didn't seem to caste shadows, is what I mean. Like it was more like whatever the "orb" flew past, it illuminated as though the illuminated thing itself made the light. More portal like than orb like, although there were visible shapes of small people like beings inside the center of the glow, and two or three distinct sources. All in all, i saw probably three beings. They themselves were silhouettes. Maybe a foot tall. Probably 50 feet away. And moving through dense fir trees.

huh?

It was hard to tell because though there weren't shadows outside the orbs, inside it was like there as a kind of weird light source from every degree around the roughly sphere shaped objects.
The effect was that the beings or shapes Inside of them were hard to see in terms of details like skin color or even whether or not they had clothes.
From what I noticed, they were probably no taller than about 2 feet if standing up, shaped like people but fairly "twiggy" with odd shaped adornments or anatomical structures coming from their shoulders and neck areas and wrists as well. They must have been about 40-50 feet away at least, across a river and up a ravine a bit. They appeared to be holding weird poses that reminded me a lot of yoga poses. To memory, I saw what looked like a warrior III pose, as well as a lotus position, as well as this weird wide legged forward bend with one hand straight up and one down on the floor, knees locked and wide, shoulders forming a cross against the ground.

Fae beings exist.

Fairies represent the ancestral memory of an ancient race that coexisted with Europeans millennia ago.
In European folklore, all tales regarding fairies share two common elements: dwelling underground (well-known Italian examples include the legend of the Sibillini Mountains fairies or the fairies in Giambattista Basile’s tales who lived in subterranean palaces, as well as the Túatha Dé Danann in Ireland or the gnomes of Scandinavia) and a vulnerability to metal.
These two elements—living in caves and fearing manufactured objects—undoubtedly evoke the image of a primitive creature.
It is likely that many Europeans today are descended from this ancient fae race
