I posted a while back, been skating on breaks at work only. i too, was a cruiser 15 years ago and i could never ollie properly. im close landing shuv its and progressing to the kickflip. i still have trouble ollying while moving. i find that stretching and doing jump squats/gallops help with endurance and muscle memory. im only 28 but fuck i can feel the age coming on, my ankles are swollen but no scrapes yet.

What do you guys think of dropthrough cruiser boards? 5 dollar pickupArbor Summit Sucrose Initive 71mm 78a wheels, 50 caliber trucks, unknown deck (looks kinda like an Arbor Zeppelin, but seems short at 34 inches, even with the ends chipped off) I think it's just under 8.5 wide, maybe 8.375?It was super dry wood so I oiled the wood and filled the splits in the wood on the bottom (maple) and the (bamboo top layer?)slits, hopefully to help waterproof and keep the board less brittle. Ends are chipped off and hardware bolt heads are stripped pretty badly, but it seems okay for now so I will leave it be till I buy replacements at a hardware store.Eventually if it cracks on the ends more, I can narrow the wheelbase or even just drill and mount the trucks under, maybe leaving a kicktail.7.25 board in there for size reference

Front foot should be an inch or so below the front four bolts and toe sticking aligned or slightly past the two bolts farthest way from you. Try kickflipping more like an ollie. Ollie but sort of slide your foot slightly further forward so you tap the near side of the nose.. the board should flip and you should stay above it easier. Heel flips are the basically same but flipped around. Have your foot in the same position but your heel should be about aligned with the bolts closer to you. Ollie, but slide that foot a little further forward and tap the far side of the nose instead. Hope that helps someone.
