Do skateboarders really hate scooters?
I don't see why they would, scooters can be cool if done right
Which one do yall prefer more?
>>
I don't hate anyone but it is pretty annoying when the skatepark is so crowded that it's barely usable because it's completely filled with very, very young children with zero spatial awareness and parents who just dump them there without bothering to even tell them to be careful about other people.

Older scooter kids are usually a bit less annoying, but at some point they just start completely destroying every ramp at the park by attempting tricks and completely fucking smashing their heavy, metallic scooter on wooden ramps. My local (indoor) park had to ban scooters from using the mini because they kept punching holes through it.

Also a lot of them don't seem to realize or care that they might hit someone with their scooter by spinning them around everywhere.

Higher levels, eh. I mean yeah some people pull impressive stuff but I honestly don't like it just on an aesthetic level and it's hard to explain why. The tricks feel a bit samey and silly.

a lot of the tricks do look the same to be fair.

There seems to be a difference with park scootering and street scootering though. Street seems to get as close to skateboarding as it can, with just simple tricks and stuff, lots of grinds/slides, etc etc. Park scootering has the fuckin over the head spinny shit youll do mid air and personally, that seems so lame.

Most of the hate towards scooters would prob go away if parents didnt dump their kids off at the skate park anyway

On an aesthetic level it looks stupid because of the fucking handlebars lmao. Riding a ramp or really doing anything with a scooter takes no skill, practice, and carries a drastically lower risk of injury. Every scooter kid would just skate if skating was easy but skating is not easy so that's why they don't do it.

It's the people who do it. Scooter kids are annoying and roll in packs of 10. A random kid scootering and respecting skate park etiquette is fine.

It looks silly and takes less skill than skating, blading, or BMX to get good at. I hated them when I was young. Now, I don't care as long as they stay out of the way.

nah it doesn't bother me because when it gets crowded i just have a stationary flatground sesh until it's not crowded anymore
