Reminder to not suck Yoshi's nutsack.
What did people think of the other Yokozuna during Hakuho's run after Asashoryu retired? I started watching sumo the basho when Terunofuji retired so i never saw any of them. Im not just talking in their results, which i can look up their W/L record, but more in terms of their style while fighting and how entertaining it was or their overall personality how did people rate them?
>>266858Harumafuji is the smallest Yokozuna in history and roped on back to back zenshos during Hakuho's prime. That's all you really need to know about him.
Did Sumo Spirit delete his AI slop channel and remake it under SumoSpirit? I know for a fact I blocked the channel before but for some reason it was in my feed just now.
Why do they constantly change their names all the time, impossible to keep track of who is who
>>266863The new -fujis did it because Miyagino was officially dissolved and Hakuho's old deshi became official Isegahama dudes, and since Isegahama has a tradition of shikona ending in -fuji they changed names. Hakuoho still kept his old Haku- and Enho didn't accept the convention at all since he's already popular and not that long before retirement. If some 5th division dude changes his name you literally do not have to care.
>>266864My post was the result of discovering Kisenosato's name as an elder is Nishonoseki, but I was also aware that as rikishi rise through the ranks they do a regular name change sometimes, usually from a name that isn't their original name to begin with. So some of these niggas have like 4 names.
>>266861No it's the same channel. I've blocked it and lots of other AI slop too but they've been pushing this shit hard lately, especially AI music. I've gotten another sumo slop channel too called Sumo Flashback with the disgusting garish kind of AI thumbnails boomers love.
It's kind of a shame that Kisenosato didn't enforce a Kise- shikona on his guys since apparently that's a rare kanji. Onosato could've been Kiseryu or some shit.
>>266867>Kisenoryu sounds like kissing all of youCould've been so good.
>>266871>Kisenoryu>Kiseho>Kisekoku>Kisemi"Why is our stable so popular with overseas fans?"
>>266867He enforced nosato instead
>>266865Part of it is needing to earn a name, or superstition about sucking with an old name. Retired people change their name to the fixed stock names, which you could argue is good because it frees back up their old names.
>>266875He didn't enforce jack shit.
And if you don't already know, the shikona of Onosato comes from a combination of Daiki's favourite Yokozuna, Onokuni, plus his master's shikona of Kisenosato, resulting in Onosato. The shikona just happened to have been used by an Ozeki over a century ago so Kisenosato tracked down his ancestors and asked if he could give his deshi the shikona to which they obviously replied yes. Japan loves this sort of shit.
>tfw went to the store and they didn't have my brand of sumo
>>266880>When store brand is better than the expensive stuff
How frustrated and upset are the Dan haters right now as a result of Dan getting his 3rd yusho? Post you level of butthurt on a scale of 1 to 5
>>266889Nobody hates Dan. People hate that one faggot who gargles his balls and makes OPs too early just so they can have Dan images.Cleanse your mind with nuAsahi's latest glorious yusho.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iIoakQ72os
>>266890You fool, you are replying to the very person you speak of.
>>266891You're that one faggot who gargles his balls and makes OPs too early just so they can have Dan images?
>>266892Brother you've got the wrong anon. The gargler was the one who asked the question.
Fujinokawa needs to get on the roids
>>266886Is the leaf being stuck to the fish a good or evil omen?
>>266890You realize he does that because you get irrationally mad, right?
>>266895It depends, what was the moon phase and when did the lady next to him last have a period
>become the world's greatest sumo wrestler>your prize: you get to be in OP pic of 4chan threadsworth it?
JSA just announced that Dan is getting promoted to O1e on the next banzuke
JSA just announced they are giving Dan the newly created DaiOzeki rank for the next banzuke in honor of his eventual roping
JSA just announced that all the wrestlers are getting a pay bump
Isegahama are the bad guys of the sumo world.
Chris said the yokozuna need to quit
>>266906Reading the comments makes me think that gaijin shouldn't be allowed to watch sumo.
>i went to retardville and oh boy you won't believe the sort of stuff they were saying!thanks for checking in, champ
>>266907Let the professional well-paid athletes rest for years, chud!
>>266901spiffy confirmed this
Dan haters have zero himkaku
JSA just announced they are throwing Ura into a pit in hopes to appease the evil spirits
>>266911Why is spiffy's "instant" banzuke video half an hour long? wtf is "instant" about half an hour?
>>266879>Daiki's favourite Yokozuna, OnokuniWide as a pond, deep as an ocean
Koga's favorite Yokozuna is probably Futahaguro
Anyone playing uchinoheya? Trained a kid from aomori we won 27 yushos loved that mountain hill Billy.
>>266919Looks too bare bones for me, and not even in a good way
>>266919>Anyone playing uchinoheya?I finally understand the guy in the main /sp/ threads that gets so irritated and demands people "buy an ad". No. Nobody is playing the half asses AI slop game. Fuck off, buy an ad.
>>266917>大大の国
>>266914It's because he instantly spits the video out as a knee jerk reaction to the basho ending.
>>266917>they warp tool'd his bellylmao
>>266920It did just release so it would be>>266921>AISome of the events did seem like it was written by AI I see sumo game I play simple but it helps to have an Imagination ill stay on the free version.
>>266928>Some of the events did seem like it was written by AIhe admitted the whole game is AI vibe coded on r*ddit
>>266928I'm not paying 5 dollars for AI slop
>>266858>HarumafujiVery light for a yokozuna and very technical. Hit a slump when he made ozeki, but left no doubt for a rope promotion with double consecutive zensho. Had injuries, but wasn't quite as beat up as the others and probably could've earned a couple more yusho had he not been ousted. It's an open secret that he's been a shadow coach at Isegahama. >KakuryuThe black sheep of the Mongolian yokozunas. Good all around, but not really elite at anything. He definitely deserved the rank though, even if he didn't have the same highs as the others. His later career was marred by injuries (many such cases), but when he was on, even Hakuho had to bring his A-game to beat him. He is also the Mongol with the most hinkaku, being the only drama-free Mongol yokozuna. He is also known for speaking really good native-level Japanese. >KisenosatoWhile his yokozuna career was a trainwreck, he was one of the best ozeki around and would've easily roped earlier if he was in a weaker era.>TerunofujiTall, huge, skilled, and monstrously strong on top of it. I assume you already know the story, but making it to yokozuna with the way his career went is already Hollywood worthy. Everything afterwards is gravy. One could argue he doesn't deserve dai-yokozuna status because his post-belt yushos were in a weak era with not lesser competition. I'd actually agree with that assessment, but he deserves a lot more credit than he gets for how he achieved those yushos. Hakuho in his final yusho still fought like Hakuho, even if he was at diminished capacity from injuries. However, Teru was so injured that he had to change his style and tactics multiple times to get his yushos, which often goes overlooked.
>>266932>a weak eraI feel you have more experience than me, are we currently in a strong or weak era?
What do i name this guy, i was thinking Hakawooho but thats a little too furry adjacent right?>>266932>TerunofujiDo the injuries give him a little bit of a "what if" to his career? He still made Yokozuna but it really makes you wonder where he would rank all time if he didn't have his career completely turned upside down by the knees exploding.
>>266936Yoisho!
>>266934Medium era, potentially strong if the top of the banzuke gets their shit together.>>266936>Do the injuries give him a little bit of a "what if" to his career?I would say so. Shin-ozeki Terunofuji could compete with the elite of the day and even beat them, but not consistently. Maybe he would've grown and made it a 5 yokozuna era. Or maybe he only made it because those guys retired and he became a big fish in a small pond. Perhaps he became elite BECAUSE he got injured and was forced to work smarter, not harder. We'll never know.
asashoryu is so ashamed of his nephew's performance that he has completely given up posting about sumo on his xitter
New Dosukoi Sumo Salon is up
>the Paris episode https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/shows/5001521/
>>266907This.>>266930>umm I actually did some things by hand! :)All AI jeets need to go on a rope run (forma vertical)
>>266957
>>266966I'd rather go intai than go to Paris tbqhwy.
>>266932>He is also the Mongol with the most hinkakuThat would be Harumafuji who smacked a bitch for insulting Hakuho.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRs9vwopEvwWatch a pint sized Ozeki smoke his opponent and take them down to the clay.
>>266979Did he get into his kitchen and eat his lunch?
Has there ever been a bigger humiliation ritual than Horshityus yokozuna promotion.
>>266984Futahaguro's yokozuna promotion
>>266984Onosato "oh right, we forgot he could win matches" clapping
>>266989Hey, Futahaguro's final Ozeki basho was a 14-1D where he went through Asahofuji, Onokuni, and prime Chiyonofuji, falling to the latter in the playoff. What's crazier is Futahaguro had only actually been in Makuuchi for 12 basho before his promotion which I didn't even know until checking just now. I thought the record for rope from Makuuchi debut was Wajima at 15 but I guess not. They had every reason to think Futahaguro was going to win cups and if he hadn't smacked a bitch he most assuredly would have.Hoshoryu on the other hand has no excuse because there's no Yokozuna of Chiyonofuji's level dominating Ozumo right now.
>>266998>there's no Yokozuna of Chiyonofuji's level dominating Ozumo right now.Dan
Stop bulling my Yokozuna-Ozeki. Its not his fault the JSA panicked. What was he supposed to do, say no to the promotion?
>>267008should've spun 360º and went straight home to the steppeland.
If he hadn't been promoted he'd be Sekiwake rn.
>>267008Well he already showed he's willing to falsely drop out of the basho so that
>>267017>Haha I have an MCL injury but lmao wow I managed to last 13 days and the fusen just happened to go to my friend on his Yokozuna run haha damn that's crazy
>>267018This is the moment he went full heel. He got an undeserved promotion to zuna but you kind of felt bad for him because he was over his head. Now he is a loser trying desperately to screw Dan over cause he can’t beat him.
>>267021The promotion wasn't entirely undeserved but there's no real way of knowing since Hakkaku was desperate to have a Yokozuna for London.
>*dies of cringe*
>>267018mongols have no hinkaku
>>267021image how many kinboshers would being handed out if kiriSHITma as also a yzuna. there'd be joi dudes rolling up to the bashoes being dropped off by chauffeur driven gold plated rolls royces
>>267031yoshinofuji would change his shikona to yoshikinboshinofuji
>>267031everyone would want to be in joi, they'd all 7-8 on purpose to avoid sanyakoo
How do i become the next Aonishiki?Im already fat as fuck
>>267035Go back to your childhood and get into amateur grappling sports. Also be born with a squat physique.
>>266860He was one of the smallest and the most explosive Yokozuna, and had amazing Tachiai.
>>266860>Harumafuji is the smallest Yokozuna in historyNo.
>>267042He had the most acne scars, definitely the ugliest yokozuna until horseshitryu came around. What is it with mongs and acne? How come they're so unhygienic?
>no new Chris video today
>>267046Thanks for the update, I'm sure somebody here cares
>>266984His fans watching Dan ascend
All this Harumafuji talk is making me want an oatmeal cookie.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1pYsvRE2EAKiribayama...the good old days...
>>267058Kiribayama was always the better name too
>>267060As soon as you LARP as a Yokozuna you curse yourself. Just ask Kotozakura.
>>267061Not quite the same, the Kirishima name he inherited was Ozeki at their highest rank.
>>267063Hahaha you're right surely others who've taken on an Ozeki shikona have gone on to incredible things.
Nabatame beats all of them at the same time
>>267065wtf I just got recommended that video and watched it until it became comical since the bouts were so old
>>267065>onosato>starEhh
>>267064meh, Kisenosato probably wanted "O=big" and "nosato" from his own name and only after checking in the books they found it was some taisho era Ozeki's name.
>>267066Don’t worry we will be getting some new matches next year when Niggatame gets to sanyaku.
>>267072he will be shat out the ass end of juryo same as the last two times he made the 2nd division. >doesn't have the makings of a makuuchi sekitori
>>267073False. Niggatame destroyed Asahifuji in their first meeting he just needs to work on consistency. He is on the good steroids now and is too strong for makushitters. I hope that you will ha ve the humility to post your apology to niggatame when he makes Makuuchi.
>>267073The last time he sat out due to injury, and had proven he can put up good records there by then. Unless you mean he explodes his other knee.
>>267073Nabatame and Kazuma will rape juryo from both ends.
KWABatame finna get his ass beat by juryo again lmaooooofutamaGOYs chimpin out
whens the next Chris video coming out?
>>267071It's Onokuni + Kisenosato.
