Imo current tech progression is basically generating a theoretical 3D scan of your input image, everything else is just repackage old techs for smoke and mirrors. The output models have the same usage as 3Dscans.It seems quite good for generating small prop for kitbashingAnyway, I wonder if anybody got a successful set up for ComfyUI to run locally. I'm only able to get it to work by sending the image to TripoSR API, installed through ComfyUI-Manager, which is not local ( at least the output is good and it's currently free for now )I'm trying to install this sht but it's broken beyond repairhttps://github.com/MrForExample/ComfyUI-3D-PackThere's a supposedly working portable but there are so many missing modules to reinstall https://www.reddit.com/r/comfyui/comments/1feb0th/easy_comfyui3dpack_working/
Some of the result from TripoSR are impressive, especially how the back view's form is generated instead of just indecipherable blobs.I would totally use this to transfer a 2D design into a base for 3D sculpt if I don't have to upload my stuff onto some servers
>>1000809>what if..... computer could do all the work for me??? :OSorry I'm not a hack
>>1000809As long as you know how to retopologize
>>1000809you're gonna spend the rest of your life fiddling with "generators" to add slop to the pile when you could learn to draw/sculpt/model/texture and make cool stuff that at least you would appreciatea fate worse than cris'
>>1000809Incredible timing. This is the first time I came to this board and this is exactly what I needed to see. After discovering AI pose tracking for animations and getting bad-but-good-enough animations after some fiddling I wanted to figure out a good way to make crappy-but-good-enough low poly models for a game I want to make. This will save me a literal year of effort. You might point out that any half-decent modeler and animator will blow whatever AI produces out of the water. I would like to point out that I have 0 skills related to modeling and animation and that whatever AI produces will blow what I could make out of the water and do not want to add another two years of development to learn modeling and animating onto a game that's going to take at least two years to program. Finally, this stupid idea for a Soulslike that's been rattling in my skull for 12 years might exist.
>>1001127 OP here, It literally just gives you a theoretical 3D scan of an object by doing a bunch of image depth to mesh ( with millions of tris ). It's not really suitable for anything without a retopoIf you're looking for quick 3D asset for games there are a lot of premade packs on Fab/Artstation/Unity.... stores that go for cheap and you could learn how to unwrap UV and swap image texture to customize them to a certain degree
>>1001060Quadremesh
Hey OP I want you to take a look at this model I made when I started out with 3D a few months ago. I think this is probably my 2nd model ever. I thought doing a chibi instead of a character with proper proportions would be a fun and easy challenge. I remember I had so much trouble getting the shape of that mantle that covers the chest right. I couldn't UV-unwrap my way out of a bag so I settled for flat colors. I didn't even model the hands!Well I want you to know that this little model of mine will always have more charm and soul than whatever that garbage regurgitator of yours ever makes. Yes, whatever IT makes, because you yourself won't have made anything
>>1001142ah sorry i don't mean any hostility. I'm generating some model to use as kitbash for sculpts
>>1001144I'm just hoping to find some autists who could figure out how to get this shit run locally
>>1001132I don't know what that means I just know that I hate Blender and its awful interface and want to use it as little as possible.Asset packs are out of my price range and won't look like what I'm after. I can find modelers on fiverr to make models close to what I'm after but at even as little as 10 bucks a model that's a thousand dollars minimum to get what I need for my game and that's a fifth of my yearly income.
>>1001127Are you a programmer?
>>1001158I'm a person who learned to program in my spare time. I can't consider myself a programmer because I don't have much experience.
