Will it be more lucrative to try and make indie 3D animations, Make indie Games, or just make models. It kind of seems like animation isn't very prophetable.

you could try freelancing or making asset bundles. lots of rubes are buying asset packs just for hobby level game developement.
the actual game developement itself is probably the least profitable path.

Do you just want to make money right now? Make porn animations. But unless you are really really fucking good you'll never get hired by a decent paying company.

Would it be fine to make animations as well? I have a massive amount of free time to dedicate. I want a long term career but I also want to make 3D animations. I don't mind keeping the animation side of it as a hobby and making modeling my main gig.
