Which games inspired you to get into 3d?

Morrowind: Immersive, low-fidelity aesthetic.Diablo 1 and 2, Daggerfall: Nice looking sprites from 3D models (Arena has a couple examples as well).Final Fantasy X, XIII: Beautiful, intricate designs. Often portrays the human body with a great deal of beauty. I particularly in enjoy XIII's environments.Mech Warrior, Armored Core 2 and 3: Amazing mech designs.Oblivion: Soul in every square inch of it's environments. People back then criticized it for being generic, but there's a reason the mainstays and troupes of European and Tolkien-inspired fantasy have persisted for so long.>>998118Solid

A lot, my current main inspiration is PSX graphics I guess. Some of my favorite styles:* Necropolis* Morrowind* World of WarcraftAttaching Necropolis since it's one of lesser known hidden gems with incredibly good 3d minimalism.
>>998118Lol desu THIS. First I got interested in 3d as a kid it was probably games like Quake 2 and Sin. But I dropped it and gone for programming. Went back for 3d in my 30s now, just for fun. I'm like half a year in, still finding myself figuring out stuff and developing new habits almost every day. Yesterday for example I realized how it's nice to split work on related group of assets into separate file, have them as collections with properly configured instance offsets and link them as collection instances in main project from there.

>>997924I have always wanted to get into 3D. Ever since I saw "The making of" Walking with Dinosaurs and Jurassic Park. I thought to myself:>There are people who's job is to literally make dinosaurs. I want that job.
