No it's overly pretentious and adds absolutely nothing to the series that wasn't already there. If anything it takes away from the fight and is just a big old waste of time. The original series fight was already perfect it didn't end to be fixed.

STTGL just being a giant Kamina/Simon is pretty lame, the hand to hand fight scene with Simon and the Anti-Spiral was awesome and thematically appropriate though.

the only good part about the movie is the part where everyone got their own mechs and the cho tengen toppa design look so much cooler than the normal tv version.
