I know its a crackpot theory but I think what will save Elbaf and the SHs isnt some third party like Shanks or whatever. I think Imu will defeat everyone worth a thing in the island (its easy to see that Oda has build up everything for this moment and this is Imus hype moment and aura part of the arc), but after he beats all the good guys in a few chapters I think what will stop him and stall him enough for his time on the surface to run out will be whatever is in heaven world. Remember that we still dont know jack shit about heaven world. I think there are some sort of ancient valkyries of sorts who will descend and save Elbaf and theres gonna be a rule that they only descend when the devil of the world also descends, the whole heaven and devils connection and all that. Would be a good way to incorporate Heaven World into the current arc

Something I realized after getting through the daily thread. Zoro and Sanji have the most shallow relationship/friendship/rivalry. The two of them never have a serious moment or talk, they never have a real fight either with or against each other, their dreams have nothing to do with one another, and they aren't even real rivals since Zoro by far and away always fights the stronger people. For 1,000 chapters nothing has changed and they just engage in the most shallow and meaningless banter every now and then. The two of them have nothing between them, it makes the idea of Luffy, Zoro and Sanji being some kind of cool trio completely fail. I thought at one point that maybe Sanji could make claim to being the strongest "normal" person since he doesn't use a Fruit or any super powered weapons, but then his Germa body awakens. Zoro and Sanji just aren't anything.

I mentioned this on a previous thread, but due to lack of replies and the subsequent insights I was after, I'll try again: A friend of mine started One Piece and is currently in Punk Hazard. His favorite arcs so far were Skypiea and Impel Down, but weirdly enough, he hates Alabasta. He's yet to elaborate further as to why this is, but as I have never really heard any actual criticism of Alabasta, I was wondering if there's people here who didn't like it. If so, why? I feel like it's one of the more universally loved arcs among all groups, and I can't think of really any notable downsides that'd make it anywhere near as bad as he thinks it is. Like his option is that it's one of the worst, if not the worst arc in the story, which to me, seems like an exaggeration.

As a person who has only caught up to one piece last year and has been in these threads for only a year or less actually, I really dont share the opinion of most of the op fanbase it seems. I really didnt like Alabasta and Skypeia much for example because in both apart from the main villain which are Crocodile and Enel, the rest of the villain groups are so forgettable its insane. Theres barely any crew/group dynamics, the priests of Enel are the most insanely bland batch of villains in this entire fucking manga etc . In comparison look at how well written and fun are the Big Mom Pirates for example. Or even the elders in Egghead or the CP9 in Water 7/EL, or fucking it, the Moria pirates in Thriller Bark were also kino. I feel like up until water 7 Oda struggled to write compelling villain crews and just wrote whatever for villain underlings. Thats just me though
