Time... for... episode 3...Gather around... the three... anons... still watching it...
Oh hey, I set things up to download this but haven't watched it yet. How is it?
>>287399569Sorry to inform you, you're the only one left.
>>287399569Why does she talk like Stevie from Malcolm in the Middle?
>>287399569cute..
>>287399650I'll watch it later tonight... I promise...
>>287399569Is it not doing well? I like it so far
This is easily the most boring anime I've seen in years.Did no one read the script before greenlighting the anime?
I just can't get into a groove with the tone of this.
>>287399640A little too dramatic.Episode 3 was the best one since they toned it down a lot.
They're really trying to set up the world and the lives of the characters in it as depressing while the visuals suggest anything but that.
>>287399791this kind of stuff is greenlit solely on the author's reputation
___ ____ __ ___ ____ _____ ___ ___
>>287399949The...
This anime is more boring than watching paint dry.
>>287400000Damn, can't argue with that.
I hate the Kyoani bonus because VEG definitely deserved the treatment this anime is receiving.
>>287400000Sorry... It's... all... my... fault...
I'm watching this show solely for the character design of Sakura.
>>287400037I feel like VEG's premise and characters fit with its tone more than this. "A mind-broken war orphan learns emotion through letters" feels more natural than "seasons are controlled by four individuals, they're all autistic, one was kidnapped and abandoned, there are terrorists trying to capture and/or kill them, but let's focus on these other random dramatic issues (ep 1: my mom is dead, ep 3: my sister is getting married)"
While I disliked episode 2, it made me a little more sympathetic towards hers and Hinagiku's situation. I can start enjoying this more if they keep the drama in check.
This show has some really nice environments. A shame about all the melodrama. This mansion looks absolutely comfy.
>>287400203Look at this shit. It's one of those cozy nooks that only exist in comfy spaces social media posts.
>liked the singing in episode 1>they skip it in this oneI hope the song has a full version.
>>287400203>>287400232It's kind of weird how "comfy setting to imagine a better story in" is a whole genre.
prprAlso, what's this, comedy in my super dramatic drama? Shocking.
lots of funny faces this episode
>>287400573indeed
>>287400277No OST until July 1, 2026
I think it's mildly enjoyable to watch. The visuals and character designs are nice.I've lowered my standards since a couple seasons though, used to be i watched 3 ish anime a season but this season I'm following 12 with 4 I've yet to check out plus a couple shorts.Kinda weird as you'd think the opposite would happen the longer you follow anime.
Cute
I actually like this better than VEG so far, I hate Kyoani's style
>>287400842That's actually what I experienced myself. If you actually start to like anime as a medium, rather than only watching one or two specific genres, you tend to become less discriminating, rather than more so. That's a natural consequence of watching more anime. When you only watch like 1-3 shows a year, you have to be discriminating with what you pick up. But if you have time to watch 15+ shows every season, you're naturally going to be more inclusive with what you consider to be worth your time. For a while I was watching 20-30 anime every season, and tried at least one episode of almost everything that came out, and would only drop something if I couldn't find anything redeeming in the series. By which I mean, something I could appreciation. The more I watched anime the less concerned I became with "good" vs "bad", and more interested in specific qualities of anime. There's also something to be said about watching really, really bad quality anime. Those shows often attract a particular class of poster on /a/ that make for very entertaining threads. It's like being in a club, because the same people tend to show up for shows like that. We've all watched the same jank, low budget anime. My niggas who watched Lance N' Masques, Warau Arsnatoria Sun, Gibiate, and of course Marchen Madchen, and others like it, all know what I mean.
This is my guilty pleasure this season, glad I gave this a try. Thought it was another boring cgdct show until I saw /a/ complaining.
>>287401306The first episode was pretty underwhelming, but episode 2 was a lot better. Seems like it's going to have a balance of drama and action, with some cute SoL stuff for denouement between arcs. I can dig it. I don't really care for melodrama, but the character designs, background art, animation and music are all very nice. There's a lot to like here, enough to look past the melodrama.
>>287401130based biased bro
>>287401130I usually like Kyoani but I couldn't unsee the post processing all the time and it ruined VEG for me.
>>287401140>Those shows often attract a particular class of poster on /a/ that make for very entertaining threadsI have this same thing going on but my ''club'' is a group of anons who also give all the originals a chance like mayonaka Punch, Necronomico and Maebashi witches or SI-VIS.This season barren in that respect.
>>287401447I watched Mayonaka Punch but not the others. Mayonaka Punch was a PA Works original and I've been following their originals for a long time. Not all of them, but I usually give them a watch whenever they pop up. They're usually entertaining threads. For some of them, like Glasslip, the threads are the only really redeeming part of following the show. Did you see Zenshuu? Wonder Egg Priority? Sonny Boy? There's actually been some really good originals in the last 10 years. But yeah, this season's kinda empty in that regard.
Just downloaded the episodes out so far, will watch later. WIT kino and no yuri are big sell points.
Who directed this? Haruka Fujita? This is the first episode that feels alive. It has that magical combination of grand scope, ethereal atmosphere and quiet intimacy that only a few anime manage to capture. The underlying script is still pretty basic, but this made me FEEL things despite that.
>>287401140Agree. I also find that the time and place I choose to watch anime makes a big difference on how I enjoy it. Something I find mid might actually be much more enjoyable if I watch it in the evening while I unwind instead of right away while it's still fresh. But on the flipside, some things are better watched fresh so you can shitpost with anons, which makes the show much more enjoyable.I dropped this but I might still watch it later at some point. Saturdays are packed this season and I still have like 2 more shows to watch.>>287401447I'm in that club. Mayopunch was great, necro was a nice watch too. I dropped Maebashi.
>>287401625The environments are doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Excellent use of light and windows in a lot of those shots, too. Basically nothing has that ugly, flat lighting you see in most anime productions. Even a simple shot, like the hallway in mid-left or the kitchen's flat angle shot in mid-right, have a light source which strongly colors the scene and sets a mood.
>>287401569>Did you see Zenshuu? Wonder Egg Priority? Sonny Boy?Of course. Zenshuu is great but a lot of people gave up on it early on or never gave it a chance because it is a isekai story.Pic related was such a lovely scene.
This is… a story… about… a deranged world…
>>287401784I was hooked on Zenshuu when I realized the running theme would be homages to famous animation cuts. Admittedly, it's a very niche appeal, but I was there for it.
>>287401772>Saturdays are packed this seasonSame as ever, really. Saturdays are always busy, unless I'm very discriminating and drop a lot of stuff. Even this season where I'm watching only like 12 shows most of them are on Saturday.
I am usually not the guy to say that, but this anime would be better if it was yuri. Maybe they can convince me with the couple dynamics later, but so far Hinagiku and Sakura make way more sense.
>>287401903I don't find yuri particularly interesting, usually. Unless it's explicit, of course. Or the plot is about navigating such a relationship in a fraught social environment. But just as a tack-on to an otherwise interesting story? Pass.
>>287401140>Warau Arsnatoria SunThat show was some kind of avant garde trolling, there's no other explanation for it.
>>287401958It was comfy
>>287402002W A R N I N G
>>287402014Who wants edgy old men when you can have 12 episodes of cute girls having tea parties?
>>287402111Every time I started to enjoy the tea parties it cuts to ikemen slaughtering a bunch of people. But even that wasn't the weirdest part of the show.
>>287401852Last season was pretty moderate
>>287399569Reporting in.I still watch and like it - even her autism speech pattern.
is this as good as Violet? i thought it was a little bit forced at times but overall a cozy experience
>>287401447>>287401569Yeah I noticed that original anime are often discussed by the same anons. Sometimes it's funny meeting an Odd Taxi anon in a thread for Bravern or Turkey! again. The second group I regularly encounter are the history fags that watch everything historical, be it Heike, Elusive Samurai or Orb.And then there is the "group that watches what nobody else is watching", like my three GoHands comrades. Hope the next season will have more originals again (it has at least three historical anime so that part of me is satisfied already).
>>287402344I'm also in the history club, in addition to the "shitty low quality anime" club, and the original series club. Also, loved Bravern. Legitimately some of the hardest I've laughed at recent anime.
>>287402344>or OrbNando Demo!
>>287401447>my ''club'' is a group of anons who also give all the originals a chanceMy homeboy. See you in the Lara threads next season!>>287402344>Sometimes it's funny meeting an Odd Taxi anon in a thread for Bravern or Turkey! again.Hi.>The second group I regularly encounter are the history fags that watch everything historical, be it Heike, Elusive Samurai or Orb.Small world, huh?>And then there is the "group that watches what nobody else is watching", like my three GoHands comrades. Nope. That's where I draw the line.
I'd watch GoHands shit if it didn't make me seasick.
>>287402571Would it really be GoHands if it didn't?
>>287402344Hey, I'm actually the guy that was making the character relationship charts for Heike Monogatari, at least for a few episodes. Yeah, it's kind of a small, familiar crowd. Makes for a different experience.
>>287402615I suppose it wouldn't, you're right.
>>287400203A gardener's nightmare too. Imagine needing two ladders to attend the plants in the middle...
>>287402622>I'm actually the guy that was making the character relationship charts for Heike Monogatari, at least for a few episodes. Thanks! I went in knowing absolutely nothing about the original story, and that did wonders to help me tell all the old bald men and their allegiances apart during the first few weeks.
>>287399569Here.It seems I'm really weak to melodrama and that sort of thing so I am enjoying this immensely
>>287401958I liked it.>>287402344GoHands' threads aren't that dead.>>287401802(We) Carlfags really are going to be all over /a/ for the rest of the year it seems lol.Anyway, and speaking about two animu from last year, are there any Kamitsubakifags or Utagoefags here?
>>287401958>avant garde trollingGood name for the Mayoiga genre.
>>287399569Why no one told me this shit was good?Nice girl gets raped so hard she can't speak right is such a hot premise
This show is so boring we ended up talking about Arsnotoria instead.
>>287401140I'm not even watching Shunkashutou Daikousha Haru no Mai but I took a look at the thread and was reminded of Arsnotoria from the discussion about the mansion looking comfy. Anyways, I think it describes a subset of the shows that end up getting listed in the wabisabi charts. Not all of them but like the ones you listed.
>>287402344>group that watches what nobody else is watchingalso known as "anons who watch (almost) everything in a season"
>>287402571Does this make you seasick?
>>287403001Utagoefag here. I didn't care about it all that much even though I love music dramas, but I stuck with it.
>>287403426Yes, also getting hard doesn't cure seasickness it seems.
>>287402344>>287402551Indicators suggest Lara will actually be good, don't worry guys
sex with spring
>>287402344Apocalypse Hotel was fantastic. Just got the art books. Not a big fan of this show though, sadly.
>>287401140I’m watching the most I’ve ever watched this season (12), but I’ll probably drop some soon.
>anons acting like 12 shows a season is a lotyou're not a true anime fan if you don't watch 30+ shows every seasonanyways, as for this show the world is really fucking stupid
I wish this show would pick a lane and stick to it instead of constantly flip-flopping between silly anime antics and trying to make me feel bad by having random people unload their sad backstories on me. I get it already, shit happened. It sucked. Stay in the moment.
>>287399653shits happened to her
I don't really understand why attacking the literal agents of god isn't treated as an actual attempt to destroy the world, but the girls are cute so it's fine.
>>287399569I dropped… her… show… five … minutes in… because… the way… she… talk…
why is every place referred to with their old names
>>287405199That's mean, considering she talks like that because she was brutally raped for 8 years, knowing her family had given up on her and wished for her to die.
>>287405046People screwing the natural order and dooming everyone to long term environmental disaster for the sake of short term gains seems pretty realistic to me. Specially when it comes to spring. Imagine how many people you could starve to death or how much money you could extort from countries with a single well placed bullet.
>>287405341this episode shows that that's futile since the gods just choose a new one once the previous one dies
>>287405046This episode showed that their season-changing powers only work in a localized region at a time (Hinagiku brought spring to Shikoku in this episode). We can safely assume each country has their own agents. I doubt the writers>>287405199 have thought that far ahead yet though.
>>287405397Yes, only if they die. How much do you think people would've paid to get Hina shot? Probably a lot.
>>287402753Seems like the kind of place that has all kinds of underground and other secret passageways.
>>287403088That's another good example of it.
>>287403118We should talk more about Arsnatoria, it was an interesting show.
>>287405397Yes, and if they don't die the world gets fucked. Clearly this is a problem.
>>287401306This isn't even a 'guilty' pleasure. I legitimately think it's good. I think the first episode was a little hard to really get the premise but by now I'm enjoying it
I.... watched... it...?
>>287405341killing them is pointless, another one gets summoned right away and it's largely out of mortal control.Capturing and holding them for infinite ransom is peak British empire.
I... wonder... if she... also... makes... stops... while sucking... dick...
>>287401625>they have episodes like this>and their first episode is 3 people talking for 20 minutes in a snowy forestANN credits this episode as some relatively newbie directors former animators. As usual animators have better understanding of visuals.
>>287401958This was easily the most boring anime from the last 5+ years that I watched more than 5 episodes from. I usually drop as soon as I feel boredom (which happens quickly and quite often) but the slaughter parts seemed to hint at something interesting happening in the future. Was the right choice to drop it after all since they apparently never came to kill those fucking MCs.
>>287406371>peak British empirekaijin fugeki anime when
>>287401625>>287401782I feel like I am more superficial nowadays because pretty visual compositions, contrasts and colors get an almost guaranteed watch from me whereas I am tempted to close the video file when I see flat colors and QUALITY. Might be because I'm a drawfag and gaining more XP over the years makes you unable to ignore visual issues that you might have not even noticed as teen. Now I am retarded and can't help but think shit like "why didn't they put some shade here to make this pivotal scene look good?" Kinda stupid but on the other side it does make me appreciate good looking scenes even more. Wish more directors would put some thought into this. I rather watch less anime that look beautiful and trigger some emotions with that than 20 series with interesting ideas and awful quality.
>>287403001Funny, I am a Carlfag too (not any of the anons above)
>>287407109Thats usually stage two of being an anime fan. Don't worry about watching less anime now, you will eventually learn to appreciate the series you dismissed as low quality and go back to watch everything you skipped.
Just... did... cardio... so... tired...

What's the point of kiling the agents if a new one will pop up right away? Are terrorists genuinely retarded? Is it all a gov psyop to keep agents under control?
>>287432286Getting a new one to pop up could be a victory in and of itself. I am sure a lot of people in the government would want a winter thats not constantly going on strolls, or a summer thats not constantly wasting the budget on critters for example. There is also clan politics, I imagine some people would win big by getting to reroll until someone loyal is on top. And of course cases like spring, where the agent is used goods and everyone would be better off if she were dead.

>>287399791>>287400000It's entertaining. The animation is good and the plot is decent, but if they had developed it like Lycoris, with the girls as stations with their agents and the boys as terrorists, we surely would have had another AOTS.
