This anime was always gonna be a tough sell outside of Japan. At least One Piece and Pokemon can get away with being over 1000 episodes because you'll get at least some kind of plot advancement or a decent fight every week.
>>287523174>This anime was always gonna be a tough sell outside of JapanIt's extremely popular virtually everywhere outside of the US.
>>287523227this.
>>287523174Retro anime has always been a hard sell in the US outside of the big names. It's always the big recent hits or nothing at all
>>287523174I think Pokemon having an audience is mostly a result of severe mental illness and massive amounts of manchildren and femcels.
>>287523174What? Children don't care about that and Conan is extrememly popular
>>287523174WTF are you on about? It was massive in EuropeIt only failed in America because they chose to run it at primetime, which was quite the ballsy move but didn't pay off
>>287523174The real problem with conan in the west is that parents are stupid and would let children watch it because of the artstyle and then that child is gonna be watching a homicide mystery.
>>287523833The west includes Europe, and Conan was huge hereLike I mentioned here >>287523810 only reason it flopped in the US is because they chose to run it at prime time which was a mistakeThey actually marketed the show to older people in the USThey took a bet and it didn't pay offAnd it's just not just because burgers consider animation to be for kids but also because there's just too much competition in that time slot
>>287523280>Retro animesighConan wasn't a old anime when it was brought to the statesIt was only 8 years old
>>287523953>The west includes europeI don't consider Europeans people period.
>>287524044You're a fucking mutt
>>287524398I can tell you've never met a frenchman.
>>287524036>Conan wasn't a old anime when it was brought to the statesTell that to the network
>>287524850>The kid's show failed to pull numbers at 1AM on a weekdayI'm shocked
