I've talked with a lot of japanese about the オタクに優しいギャル genre's authenticity and their real life experiences, and it's commonly agreed that its one of the most unbelievable tropes out there. Even the childhood friend and imouto (to an extent) relationships are more believable.This is probably because of the inherent nature of being at the top of the caste, that you really cannot hangout with the bottom of the caste without dropping yourself. The exception would be hanging out with someone of the same sex (like how men often drag along outcasts to socially propel themselves) however if it's the opposite sex then it really just doesn't go beyond being friendly greeted in the morning or something.Some of the most wish fulfillment shit out there.
