Young genz and oldest gen alpha is the target demo now (and they're fucked).It's somehow even worse. The most basic premise in Holyland is Yuu wanting to hang out in the city in the evening/night and that is not nearly as appealing as a shounen story anymore. Kids don't go outside and hang out nearly as much and the change has happened really quickly. Add on top of that actually having real life friends you meet with outside of school and not just internet friends, Holyland takes place in a world that doesn't exist anymore.The change from 2000's to 2020's in what a normal average teenager gets up to is very drastic. Now to want to go outside in the evening to hang out (if you can't go into bars yet) you basically have to be a street prostitute or a drug dealer who has a clear monetary incentive for doing it. This has weirdly made "the streets" actually way more dangerous since the only ones there are up to no good.If you were a teenager and used to hang out in your city in malls etc. go out to those hang out spots that everyone your age used to gather at, It'll just be an empty bench. My city has a yearly art event in the middle of the night for one day, and it used to require heavy police presence because literally almost every teenager in the city would gather and do crazy shit, now it's just 30-year-olds with man buns. Not only do kids have no IRL friends, they don't even go outside.

I sometimes volunteer in youth work and one of the most common complaints I hear is how bothersome it is to show up somewhere in real life for activities and how much they wish anything we did was just online (with them not getting that us going outside is the whole point). I know for a fact that every activity I do with them, for everyone there, there's 10 kids that were offered the same opportunity but turned it down since showing up in person is so hard. I know it's not the most representative sample since they're kind of troubled kids, but most of them are also the "popular kids" at school who should be having the most pull to hang out. In youth work alcohol used to be basically the number one problem, now it barely makes it to top 5 because it requires kids to go out. The kids are not alright.

Katou winning just by having a thick solid build and some fighting experience vs a someone who has done karate seriously for close to a decade doesn't make battle shounen manga sense, but in real life some body types are just very advantageous and can win fights.Some people are just more stocky and dense, making them significantly harder to hurt. One sleeper build is dwarfs, they're stocky, dense and low to the ground. A well grown portly dwarf is an immovable object while they can trip you over easily and bring you their world, I've seen it happen.

>>281901631Thanks OP.Live Actions shill here; some of the smaller NPC fights are from the LA here but this arc and onward is really where the adaption shines. Yuu's actor does a really great job of portraying his descent into rage and fury, and the action choreography really takes a step up. They do something in the next major fight that I have yet to see any other action movie or show pull off as well, especially with how obviously limited the adaption's budget was.
