is the Yaiba remake worth watching?
For the sakuga? Absolutely.If you're a purist, whether for the OG anime or manga, not too sure.Personally as someone who watched the OG anime, I love it.

Yaiba remake, though not the greatest ever, feels like where the industry should be right now if they kept 90s art philosophy behind animation while going for newer tech. 00s jump to computer graphics was also a jump to different styles that translated to the tech at the time a little bit better, and those eventually solidified as norm. Yaiba breaks the new mold to try to revive the new one, while trying to fit newer substance in that mold. In that way it feels a lot like those 00s renditions of older manga like Atom, Kikaider and Cyborg 009, but with a better grasp of how to use digital means for animation.It is also fun, low-brow, mischievous, pure and earnest. It looks like it was made by people who liked the 90s anime they grew up with, and that didn't want to change them.

One of the reasons why WIT dropped SNK was because the production committee refused to let them join and didn't give them enough time to animate so they decided it wasn't worth the effort. They complain about song choices and stuff which WIT can't really do much if they're not in the production committee or in the lower end.

I used to watch very few episodes and the plot wasn't very interesting or deep, and the animation aged poorly.
