When he was first introduced I was hyped because I thought we were getting Togashi’s mystery suspense cat and mouse game, with Kurapika taking in the role of a semi detective semi justice bringer. I’m still hyped for different reasons, but it feels like this guy being a serial killer is just character dressing now. Yea he’s still clearly evil, but the “killing innocents” aspect of his character is now detached

Gons common theme is his egoist way of framing things despite him seemingly having deep emotional empathy.Togashi never asks or tries to morally judge certain characters because he is at his core an idealist and a utilitarian with a humanist bent. Togashi doesn't believe in villainizing people rather he focuses on the abject horror of the acts that they commit.
